Excited for the tight ends as they’ll provide extra receiving targets for Morton. All of a sudden there’s a lot of capable guys in the pass game and a lot of depth when you look at Kelley, Hudson, Douglas, Eakin, McCray, Brown, Conyers, Tharp and Miller. I also think the tight ends will be great in RPO packages with Cam Brown. You can line up in a power set and run the ball or these guys can slip out for a short to mid pass. Opposing defenses will have to be prepared for a lot of different looks

Tech added TEs that can flat move. It is definitely improved. Kupp and Tharp are massive targets but also need a little time to get into space and routes. Conyers can win off the line and play like a big WR. John Carlos is a straight up deep threat guy.

Now if we’ll just throw it to em. Tharp had some huge catches but should’ve gotten more. Hope there is another Amaro in the group. WreckEm

I love your videos, but in my best Jim Lumburgh voice (from Office Space) "Yeah, I'm gonna have to sorta disagree with you there." 32 catches for 322 yds & 7 TDs in 12 games is not exactly standing out. Our pass blocking was bad, so they didn't help there and our run game was up the middle with a slower but bruising RB, so they weren't setting the edge in a lot of our run game. We've been hearing about and talking about TEs since we hired Wells 5 seasons ago, with not much to show for it. I'm kinda at the point to where I yawn at TE talk. Mason Tharp is a SR and hasn't done half of what we expected, yes, injuries are a partially to blame, but that is a part of it. Johncarlos Miller has good stats, but at a much lower level. Jaylon Conyers had a better SO season than JR season, but that could be because ASU was just so bad last season. He is probably our best hope at TE. I understand the plan with Trey Jackson is to RS to gain weight, but maybe a 6'5, 220 lb guy may be what we need at TE. Anyway, keep the videos coming.

The push to go TE heavy drove me crazy. We were cutting WR schollies to add the bigger bodies but then Wells especially targeted these massive dudes and we were just flat slow. Asking these 6'7"+ mini tackle types to block on and edge versus 6-foot 220-pound players was a struggle. And they needed time to get into their routes as they aren't the most agile or explosive off the line. But Tech revamped that room in a massive way and added elite receiving prospects in Conyers and Miller with proven production. TE is 1 group that will absolutely produce in 2024. They have too many good players there for it not to.

@@josephterrell2835 I've heard that before about our TEs, many times over the last 5 years. Miller played at D1-AA and is essentially a JUCO transfer, expecting him to be a major producer in year 1 is high expectations, but he could be in 2025. Conyers is the hope, he was unremarkable last season, but ASU was pretty bad. The other part is, who will Morton throw to? Coy Eakin is Morton's favorite and is a big WR who can and does make contested catches. Of course, both he & Morton have to stay healthy, something they struggle to do. Now add in the kid from WSU & Hudson & the fact that we will still be run heavy with Brooks.
