In a little fun switch up from my usual daytime drama opening reimaginings, I updated one of my favorite underappreciated soaps from the early 80s, NBC"s "Texas" starring Beverlee McKinsey. These credits are loosely done in the style of modern "peak tv." The timeless theme (one of the best ever) is by Rob Mounsey. If you might be wondering why I kept the end tag with Ms. McKinsey, it is because "Texas" was the first (and last) daytime drama to credit its central cast member with a "starring" credit. Although Ms. Kinsey left the series after a year, it was more important to uphold the legacy of the show. Finally, if I left out some of your favorite actors in the opening, apologies. I went with the majority of actors featured in the opening credits for most of the show's run or who had the most impact on the storylines in its two years on the air. The two actors I wish I had included were the legendary Benjamin Hendrickson (never included in the credits to my knowledge) and Chandler Hill Harben (a favorite for many, but alas Jay Hammer was more significant in the role). otherwise, I hope you enjoy this little jaunt down memory lane.
