ok a couple more questions. What tires are you running and can you share the route you took? it took me a couple watches to notice the Cc comments about going to see your Dad and that you were from up there. My Wife and I go up to Hibbing every summer for a couple months to spend time with our boys. This year were taking my X3. Should be a blast. We love the summers up there :) Thank you Sir

Awesome video dude!!! I used to live in Hibbing MN and work in Duluth. We've been down south now for 17 years. 13 in Mobile AL and now in Katy Texas when we're in town. We're full time RV'ers and work in Lake charles LA most of the time but do go up north every summer to see our boys. Quick question. so you registered it in SD then transfered it to Texas? thanks
@A1UTV Жыл бұрын
If you’re not a Texas resident id just keep it as South Dakota. I have actually since gone back to using just the SD plate because then its easier to explain and less off a loop hole. To answer your other question, no I have only been stopped 2-3 times. Once in jay oklahoma and once in Gainesville Texas. I live in dfw and have yet to be hassled here. Only time i had been stopped was me driving on the interstate. Troopers don’t like that. 😂

You average about 20 mpg. 7 gal tank. You can get an aftermarket 12 gallon tank for 329.99 which would give you a 240 mile range. Which isn't bad. I'll be turbo diesel swapping my Polaris General for the low end torque. Try to have a cruise speed of 65 mph at close to 3000 rpms. Trying to build a 40+ mpg.

@@A1UTV I wonder if the Yamaha YZX would have improved mpg? It has the manual (shiftable) cvt trans? I've noticed what I call a rubber band effect with most sxs machines. A 1 speed trans that stretches on take off then winds back down or tightens at cruise. I wonder if they'll eventually improve on the design if more and more customers start using the machines for otr use.

What kind of mods were needed to not destroy the rzr on the road? It doesn't seem like the engine would hold up to 6/7k rpm for hours at a time and in another vid you said you have a -15% gear reduction i assume its to off set the 33's i was going to stay with 30's/31's and do a +15% overdrive and re clutching. Your thoughts on this? Btw, i'm from maine if your ever in the area, stop in.
@A1UTV3 жыл бұрын
I wouldn’t recommend reclutching as the gear reduction was a lot more efficient way of getting the setup capable to turn 33/35” tires. The turbo S actually now has 35’s on it. The machine did great on the road with stock gears as well however i figured a little lower gear wouldn’t hurt anything and would only prolong the life of the belt. I now have a 12% high/rev reduction and a 33% reduction in low for rock crawling. She still cruises 70mph at 6200. Rpms no problem. Plenty fast for cruising down the hwy
@redneck26653 жыл бұрын
What would be the best way to go 60mph at 3 or 4k rpm? Staying with 30/31" tires
@A1UTV3 жыл бұрын
@@redneck2665 that’s impossible. These machines are barely rolling at 3/4K you could prob manage 25-30at 4K but not much more. You need to remember that these machines have a balance shaft and can handle those rpms like that.
@redneck26653 жыл бұрын
Is there a reason you went with the registration in south Dakota vs Montana and or LLC? from what I have learned about a LLC is insurance particularly insurance claims would be very risky and wouldn't pay out either way weather I was at fault or not. I'm just wanting to be the most legal I can be and covered in the event of an accident/incident.
@A1UTV3 жыл бұрын
@@redneck2665 here’s one big bit of information i can give. If you’re on that street legal sxs page on facebook.... get off of it. 95% of those individuals don’t know their ass from a hole in the ground when it comes to the legality especially Gary Koppelman. The South Dakota reg is a simple motorcycle reg. It’s legal to obtain out of state and when looking at reciprocity all these states they allow motorcycles to circumnavigate the states without issues. If in fact you were to be stopped and cited it would be a lot more difficult to prove your legitimacy and legality with a bogus LLC running out of a diff state than where you live. I actually have court in may and will be dealing with this issue first hand. They have tried to make an example out of me here in Texas but I haven’t stopped fighting the specific county that’s been at war with me. May is my court date and i have a jury trial as well. The only place I’ve had any resistance is in Gainesville Texas. I drive it all over the country however and I’ve always had pleasant interactions with other officers elsewhere.
