Texas Baseball and Stanford Baseball played in game 3 of the Stanford Super Regional in the 2023 College Baseball Season. The winner would advance to the College World Series and play Wake Forest in the opening round.
Covering sports in a unique way since 2018.

The best part of my work as a KZfaqr is being able to provide coverage of sports that may not receive as much attention as they should to the large audience I have built over the years. Many of the sports I cover aren't posted by any other KZfaqrs, which makes this channel that much more important.
One of my favorite accomplishments is revolutionizing the way sports channels create thumbnails. I've adopted two different styles, one with logos on the left and a game snapshot on the right, and the other with the logos in the middle and game snapshots representing both teams on either side.
I have a combined 4 years of experience as a Baseball & Basketball Play by Play announcer, which is where I learned my skills for commentary/breakdowns.

Well to be fair, that series where we saw every pitch and the dude ended up driving in a run up the middle was total shit. I mean the Texas player should’ve struck out looking like twice before then…. So it shouldn’t have been tied

Don't have a dog in this fight but watched all the super regionals and this was by far the most exciting. Horrible that it had to end like this because there was some great baseball played by both teams.

WOW on that ending. In high school I did the exact same thing, the ball just disappeared on me and I couldn't find it to save my life. I still regret that to this day, but that was a meaningless non-conference high school game, I can't imagine what those guys are going through right now. Holy crap.

My High School field was the same way. It is a flaw in the lighting system. They need a few lights directed at the sky so the bottom of the ball is lit up. High sky would never happen again. Unfornutately, all the lights are directed down at the field only.

@@humdinger77 The fielders were not blinded by the lights, the ball was hit above the light beams making it impossible to see. This is why there needs to be lightbeams directed towards the sky, and not down at the field only.

I’m a hog fan who went to Omaha in 2018. I remember sitting in the first base seats of TD Ameritrade park like it was yesterday, knowing that my hogs were one out away from winning it all. It was a 3-2 game in the top of the ninth with 2 outs and a runner on 3rd. As the pop fly descended, I knew that we were going to win. I celebrated for about 3 seconds, because I couldn’t see the ball land (everyone was standing and I was 8). Then I learned that the pop fly dropped, and knew that was our opportunity, and we missed it. I watched helplessly as the batter singled through the left side to tie the game, then the next batter homered, which I still get vivid flashbacks of. Because I was 8, I cried all the way back to the hotel and cried even more after we lost the next day, to lose the CWS finals.

Sucks it ended the way it did but MANNNNN that ump sure didnt like the look of strikes with that Stanford pitcher. And I am not a fan of either team but some of those were clear as day then he would hit in the same exact spot and call a strike... But anytime they had 2 strikes the zone got extremely tight

How about turn the field lights up haha you can tell they can’t see it. Would’ve happened the same way if it were the other way around and Stanford was fielding. Yes, I’m from Texas. Not a huge UT fan. But this is kind of a terrible way to win haha. It’s like…. take the win, but just know that it isn’t a win on the full strength and ability of the other team.

He thought he hit a walkoff ( prepping for a celebration). He lost the ball, just like the ball was lost on the pop up to end the game. It’s hard to locate the ball during twilight.

Certainly we all think our team is best, but I think Wake Forest (not my team), even if they somehow lose, has sewn up the best team in baseball award this year. That said, great game, sorry you guys had to lose like that, Horns showed some amazing fight right to the end.
