I would have made the doggy shower a dual use for people too. Minimal cost for that. Also, I probably would have found a way to put the laundry next to the master closet. It looks like a very nice plan over all with efficient use of space. Very nice tour and it's great to see what's being built!

It seems people never think about changing lightbulbs or conserving energy when designing a house with such high ceilings. Texas is getting colder, when the next freeze hits they’ll wish they had lower ceilings. Pro tip: If you’re adding a “doggy shower” just add a normal shower and a toilet. You’ve got the plumbing and tile already. Might as well make it a proper bathroom and make the home more valuable.

It may be great in Texas, but Id hate to have to try and heat that thing here in Maryland. I love the barn concept, and of course to each their own, but that seems like a lot of wasted space. Ol victorian homes could have 12 ft ceilings to help keep them cool, but this would echo even full of furniture.....

I like the idea of a baby office, I woulda just done all drawers and made the counter more standing height. Seems like a great deal with the Bills junk mail space more than an actual sit down work in there space.

I love the space!! Very pretty design, I love how the clients went all out for this and stuck to basically a dream idea. Not many barnaminiums look like homes on the inside. I really love the entry, the floors are really nice and the lights above really brings out the home feel.

Interest rates may have impacted the pace of new seekers but we have a long list of interested clientele so we have not directly been affected by that as of yet. Thanks!

These are amazing. Here’s a quick question. Is it the nature of the construction that the fireplace takes up the amount of space it does? I live in the east where you don’t see these beautiful barndominiums but my fireplace is basically flush on interior wall and it sticks out on the outside which seems better to me.

Thank you! It is possible that you can design them to frame up on the exterior wall. you just have to frame up all the way. It can be done outside of the exterior of wall. We have done that a few times. Check the Whitney Farmstyle Build we did. Looks similar, we have another one we are doing in Glenrose TX right now similar.

How do you keep moisture from getting between the cement floor and the wood on top. Do you worry about mold under the floor ??

We have plastic barrier between the ground and concrete, also we use a special bonding glue that works as a water barrier as well.

So you actually glue the wood down to the cement , so with the glue that should help with keeping insects from going underneath the wood also ??

I know the cement itself would be hard on your legs walking on all day. And like the looks of the wood floor. Years ago my uncle and aunt laid 2x6 down on top of a cement floor and mice seemed to find a way into that area what a mess they had... Always looking for options before I build 1..

No. Living sqft can cost 140-165 per sqft it’s really not much different than conventional cost. However the Barndominium offers better efficiency and free spanning abilities
