I saw some barndo’s with all their stuff in the house. Some of them were furnished very nicely & some of them went crazy. Crazy by means of making the place look cluttered & small. They just added too many furnitures or the furnitures was too big for the room. Imagine putting a king size bed in a bedroom & you can only add one small dresser. So it all depends how you decide to furnish the place.

It’s not the builder but the painter that charges a little more for the extra cleaning of either the paint sprayers or brushes etc. Not major money but a little more.

One must understand the whole process of building a barndo from scratch. It starts with having the design drawings done, the soil engineering study, putting in underground water, electrical, septic, and propane ( if desired), before building ever even starts. The complexity of the design dictates the cost of the build contract. So there is no way to give any sort of accurate answer to your question. Having just gone through this process with TBC, I’d give a rough estimate of 500k, all in. Not including the price of the property. Well worth it for the soundness and energy efficiency you get in the end. An intangible aspect that is not often pointed out is the stability of the build in tornado-strength winds, which to me is invaluable. jmho.
