@@bobbrinkerhoff3592 I had pronounced it with the "y" forever until I saw a long vintage promotional film that pronounced it with the "iss" sound over and over. Apparently the company founder pronounced his name with the "iss" sound. It still sounds awkward to me, but if the guy pronounces his name that way, I'll try to respect that.

Every video I've seen from back in the day pronounces it Willis. Were they all wrong? That must have raised quite a controversy back then.

NO, it's pronounced Willis, even though almost everyone today calls it Willeeez.

@@MLFranklin Exactly. And since Willy's was paying for those infomercials, there's no way they would have allowed an incorrect pronunciation of their name.

Okay geniuses , then why is it that I've seen plenty of original video advertising, where the name was pronounced as Willeze ? All of said advertising was factory sponsored too . Also , since when did our school systems start teaching that the letter " Y " is pronounced as if it was an " I " ?
