Meet Lisa, she has recovered from the devastating disease of alcohol use disorder. Alcoholism has plagued her family for generations, but the shame stops here. After 8 years of alcohol and drug use she came to the realization that if she wanted a better life it was going to have to be substance free. She sought out mental health support, community support and family support.
Now, over 30 years sober she has forged a career of helping others recover, dedicating her life to helping suffering people and their families. The shame of alcoholism runs very deep, especially for women.
