A comprehensive breakdown of Episode 1 and how it sets the stage for what might be one of most powerful animated series I've watched in the last few years.
Thanks for taking the time to watch. I'm looking forward to expanding on this series analysis in the near future.
This is a fairly concentrated analysis, and is part of a multi-part examination of the series and its themes as a whole. I will be expounding on some of the various themes touched on in this video in future analyses as well as a multitude of other topics that I think are core to understanding this show in a deeper way.
(Also I'm aware I pronounce Texhnolyze like a heathen, apologies.)

This is a fantastic introduction for a critical in-depth analysis of a highly slept-on gem. More cats really need to jump on this joint. As far as I know from Googling around, very little analysis of this show exists to such a degree you are eloquently presenting. Texhnoylze, I feel, is deeply under-the-radar and overlooked but has much offer us with its layered content and textural narrative much like Neon Genesis Evangelion and FLCL; however, Texhnolyze is so minimalistic, at times esoteric, and starkly alienating that most people opt out of watching it entirely. When fully consumed, though, this show provides ammo for a lot of commentary and aphoristic statements to be made about the human condition-albeit very dark aspects of humanity most probably refuse to explore. Your visual presentation (reflecting the show's aesthetic), meticulous attention to details of all the show's facets, and succinct delivery of your interpretations are demonstrative of your keen intellectual approach in examining what this show has to offer us. I have yet to find anybody discussing the merits of Texhnolyze in-and-of-itself at the level you are doing here. I look forward to your further offerings and insights. Please keep up the great work!

Thank you for this video. It's sad that it has so little views, because it's honestly the first attempt on youtube to analyze what I consider to be the most near perfect (most deliberate is a good word) anime series that has ever been produced. Interestingly I think that it shares a lot with Haibane Renmei in terms of being both pure but also presenting everything through visuals and not necessarily explaining it. What I'd really love to see is a video on the episodes 19 and 20 (the aboveground world). Most people never make it to these episodes but I find them to be one of the most interesting but also some of the most question-raising episodes of the series. That and why Ran hangs out with dragonflies.

You're in luck, as I'm actually uploading a video now regarding the surface world that will do some speculating on what happened to the population before I get into the "metaphysics" angle. this anime isnt being slept on it is just not for everybody it is mainly for who adores a complex story packed with subcontext watchers who observe think and analyse. this anime is a masterpiece either u liked or hated it but it was a bit too much for me there were alot implications that i am only ought to miss and the psychology of the characters felt confusing for me but this mans videos cleared some of my confusion and i am thankful i didnt like it as much as it deserves but it is 9/10 and Boogiepop will always be on top of my list

That lizard was also posed as a phallic object, possibly to represent the excitement he gets with fighting or the castration parallel to his loss of limbs.

Great analysis! The first time I watched Texhnolyze I was amazed by its use of visuals that it changed my opinion about anime forever! Anime as a work of art with visual aesthetic that serves its purpose perfectly. Almost not a single moment of the show is wasted, it's all about epic visual representation from the first to the last moment. I'd really like what similar anime series with visual prowess like Texhonlyze you would suggest for art cinema audience?

I really enjoyed all your videos on Texhnolyze because no other KZfaqrs have gone into such detail about it before. Anyway I was wondering what you think about their other work like Lain and Haibane and if you will ever do a video on them?

Thank you for the kind words, I'm glad you enjoyed them. That makes it all worth it. I would love to cover Lain, and might one day, but a lot of people have talked about it and I'd hate to just rehash what people have talked about without adding to it in some capacity. However, I do plan on doing Haibane. It's probably one of my most requested series at the moment, just in comments alone, so I'm going to be re-watching and working on something. It may not be as expansive as Texhnolyze winds up being, but I would still like to discuss it. As with most of their work, it's layered and there's a lot to discuss.

@BadRespawn I would love to see you cover Haibane Renmei. It, along with this and Lain, are among my favorite pieces of any media. Lain has already been given tons of attention, but I feel Haibane is somewhat underappreciated. (Not as much as Texhnolyze, though. Props for making this series!)
