In this video I build another Texoma Slayer SCX24! I love the Slayer kit, and the new caged Slayer Pro takes performance and aesthetics to the next level. This complete, 3d printed kit utilizes the SCX24 drivetrain and Meus Racing axles, although there are plenty of variations of the kit to run with different axles. Can it take the crown from my original slayer build?! Watch on to find out!

The link balls will start out moving pretty well but after a few packs will move even better. If a link ball pops off or you notice slop on any plastic link end between the ball and the link, hit it with a lighter for a few seconds and it’ll tighten back up. Don’t even need to remove it from the rig, if you can get to it, just make sure it’s supported and not holding weight because it could stretch. RTYF!!!

Your weight bias left to right can be adjusted with the help of the corner scale. The shock collars need to be adjusted according to the biased weight. It takes a little practice. The corner scale is an awesome tool. Nice build.

@@CapeCrawlers It’s a really cool build, don’t get me wrong. But it seemed like the slayer was more….I don’t know..capable? I see he has another run of warthogs, I might hop on that one. If you did one again, would you go scx or trx4m?

Dear Mr.Adam, could you please approach Mr.Ratliff and help him a bit? As you have mentioned before, you're a financial analyst and obviously have the proper skills and knowledge to help him. As we've learnt from his recent video the things are not going easy for his small enterprise. You have a chance to be a kind of Lee Iaccoca in the tough small crawler industry. Thanks!

Received my kit today and I am actually probably one of a few who is not really impressed. I was let down by the holes not lining up great . It requires a ton of clean up boring holes out. Then my links came and I can't install because 2 of them have frozen inserts so they can't pivot at all . I waited a month almost so a bit aggravating . It is not going together like i was hoping it would. It's a great design but he needs to make it out of a better material . Higher the building out to a laser cutter company. Then charge the $100 for the chassis if need be .

Everything else seems good on the site pricewise except for the rollers way too expensive $800 it is 1/24 scale pass all day
@CapeCrawlers
@CapeCrawlers 2 ай бұрын
Certainly more economical to build it yourself if you’re inclined
@wingnutbert9685
@wingnutbert9685 2 ай бұрын
I don't think "... way too expensive..." is fair to say if it's not in your budget, or more than you are willing to spend, or whatever. And $800 USD is for the RTR, not the Roller. Lets see what the math says (just a quick, not neccessarily complete, summery) : - Pre-build chassis kit: $130 - RAT'ler wheels: $45 - Tires: $16 (and he's custom cutting these himself) - Meus Iso axles: $90 - MoFo Trans: $45 - MoFo B.L. 2.0 servo: $55 - MoFo Nano BAM + Rock Wolf ESC combo: $135 - Tx + Rx: $37 - Battery: $15 Sub Total: $568 So that leaves $232...... That covers: Building time, glue, fasteners, utility bills, gas, time to and from post office, computer, 3d printer, internet bill, cell phone, time building and running Etsy store, Etsy's cut, time on emails and phone calls, tools, shop furniture, shipping on all the out of house parts, prototyping, hours testing, wasted materials due to printer malfunction, designing the print files, course building, time away from family, stress, financial risk, holding inventory, storing inventory, packaging materials, time packaging, etc, etc, etc, etc......... So, I think "Expensive" is kinda looking like "Inexpensive" or even closer to "So under priced, it's ridiculous" And if you really want to have a good cry, try being in Canada. $1100 CAD + $60CAD deliv. + 13% tax on that + duties/brokerage fees....... and throw in knees pads, Chapstick and a tub of Vaseline...... Hope that helps with some perspective. 🙂👍 Bert the Weldor www.youtube.com/@texomarc www.youtube.com/@CapeCrawlers
