YES, Demo is the hardest character to make unique. They're all either too samey and generic or just don't merge together well.

FINALLY SOMEONE SAID IT. I'm also glad that you said that Demo should have more beards. I couldn't agree more, and there's a beard in the workshop for Demo called the "Nobel Chops" which I will always tell people to check out. I think it looks distinct, goes well with a lot of outfits, and is a reference to TF lore!

you can also have a 'bomber' style demoman (Hurt Locher, Juggernaut Jacket, Frag Proof Fragger, Double Dog Dare Demo Pants etc) or a 'sport' style demonan (Backbreaker's Skullcracker, Sober Stuntman, Backbreaker's Guards, Buck Turner All-Stars etc) but yes i never thought about it that demo has a lack of good torso cosmetics and a lot of good demo cosmetics/hats are either scottish or multi class

The Dynamite Abs is probably my favorite cosmetic for Demoman, it gives Demoman a lot of potential for unique loadouts. Nice video btw!

Thank you for pointing this out, honestly, I wish we had more vest replacements that still look like vests but replace one of his biggest features. You’d think there’d be vest cosmetics that would still be bulky but so far none are in the game.

Blaxploitation demoman is slgihtly underexplored. Fro + Macho Mann + Whiskey Bib (perhaps the Bankroll can work too here) is a one of the few classic compositions that still holds up in this category.

I'm still really peeved that Spy's the one with voodoo cosmetics rather then the Demo considering the cultural background and overall style of Voodoo. I want to make a proper Baron Samedi load out for my favorite black death dealer.

How that you mention it, know I do realize how samey, generic and basic Demoman's cosmetics are. But, i have an idea where you take Demo's vest and customize it, like into a suit vest or in the same way as engineer's cool warm sweater. Where in one style, the first one, his overalls are knitted onto his sweater and the other style, the second one, actually has his overalls on.

Im very late to this but I really like demo and wanted to share some cosmetic loadouts The junkyard abomination (My main one): Steaming modest metal pile of scrap, alcoholic automaton (painted with Color No. 216-190-216) and stunt suit I really like the head with the steaming effect and modest metal pile of scrap looks very nice even without the effect The grandpa who wants to play golf: Tam O' shanter, bearded bombardier and glasgow bankroll with nessies nine iron looks silly and i really like it. The armed clown: Clowns cover-up, executioner and glasgnow bankroll This one has 2 all class cosmetics but they only work well together on demo in my opinion also if you match the paint on the clowns cover-up and glasgnow bankroll it looks very nice. Bonerman: Death stare, bonedolier, dead of night (light) and bat outta hell This is a certified hood classic but its a silly loadout you can use the Spooky sleeves instead of the dead of night but I don't like it as much personally. The half conscious wizard: Conjurers cowl, all-father and toowoomba tunic (peasant) The all-father style is up to preference but i like thunderstruck more with the loadout also I dont ever see people using the conjurers cowl even though its a really good hood cosmetic and I wish to see more wizard loadouts in general. The big guy: Blast bowl, juggernaut jacket and batters bracers With this loadout you wont have to worry about running out of ammo because you yourself are the bomb (use ullapool caber for best results) These are just some that i thought about and used myself but havent really seen alot in games and im sorry if I just copied someone elses loadout because I didnt know.

Ok I thought I made an original cosmetic loadout with a hat you don’t see a lot for some reason. It’s the Allbrero, dynamite abs, and barefoot brawler. But the problem is that if someone else wants to do a tropical style demo you have 2 good hats option (allbrero and razor cut) 3 decent chest cosmetics (dynamite abs, Hawaiian hangover, and six pack abs) and 1 good footwear (barefoot brawler) so there’s not enough variation with most cosmetic styles, you can post most of demos cosmetics in 3 sections, Scottish cosmetics, party/tropical cosmetics, and pirate cosmetics. Every now and then you’ll get something diffrent but then there’s nothing to go with it, so you either just don’t use it even if it’s really good or just wear that cosmetic alone. And most of demos cosmetics are just plain and boring. We just need one case that brings a whole new catagorey of demos cosmetics to the table. Like the side of demo that works and makes a lot of money, or some kind of edgy cosmetics so at least we have something and more cosmetics that work in between so they can be used as an all rounder demo cosmetic. This is all my personal opinion after 600 demo hours so no hate please. Edit: I wrote this before watching this vid not trying to copy you

I fully agree, I recently got some money to spend on Demoman but the problem is there are some good cosmetics but there all freaking expensive if you do not want to gamble on crates, so I'm happy that I have the exact same problem like with this video, and it's very accurate and interesting. What's really funny about the variety of Engineer cosmetics is how much you can do without even using many of his unique pieces and relying more on multi-class options. For instance, my loadout is the Well-Rounded Rifleman, the Cuban Bristle Crisis, and the Trencher's Tunic. So, with two multi-class items and one unique one, my engineer... is Fidel Castro.

I tried to make a Demo that is similar to a robot, by using the Alcoholic Automaton, Mad Lad, and Shin Shredders. It kinda works and i really enjoy it but to each their own!

I agree, there's a lot of really good stuff for demo on the workshop but valve just throws darts at a monitor and picks random garbage that way. Now this is probably just me but I think soldier gets more crappier cosmetics because its usually "funny prop on head lololo cuz america boomboom man took 40 benadryle". he's been getting better ones from the last two-three updates tho. Despite me saying he gets bad ones is purely based off of the fact that he does get more items ingeneral added unlike demo, which is like a fashion war crime.

Even tho Demo is my main and he has my favorite hat in the game (Hustler's Hallmark), I do admit most of his cosmetics are kinda samey and uninteresting otherwise. There's also a fourth category of demo cosmetics that you didn't mention, that being the "Hahaha guys Demo has only one eye lololol" that also extends to muddying all-class cosmetics that he wears. I find that to be very annoying.

Ya know what, this is a really good point. Demo's "bomb squad vest" makes it pretty difficult to make cosmetic items that stand out. My only non-Scottish, non-knight, non-pirate cosmetic set is the following: - Tavish DeGroot Experience - Dangeresque, Too? - Highland High Heels (An Air of Debonair)

The Glasgow Bankroll is one of my favorite demo cosmetics. I think 2 great loadouts with it are… Federal Casemaker, Bearded Bombardier, and Glasgow Bankroll Also Graybanns (or all most any sunglasses), Glasgow Bankroll, and Barefoot Brawler. Then you can paint these to match each other even better.

I think demo has the best cosmetics. my fav are the kilt with abs and any hat.

My demoman has a patriot peak, sub zero suit, and the sunglasses (the ones you get from helping a new player) it looks fantastic, but the hat and glasses are all class cosmetics, and the suit is multiclass. Such a shame demoman doesnt have many class specific cosmetics that look good.

Now coming back to this video and looking for creative Demoman cosmetic loadouts with no luck, and I still agree; it IS hard to make a loadout for the Demo that says “This is my Demoman!”, and it’s hard to make cosmetics for Demo because of his silhouette.

Im a Demo main and i can kind of see it... But in all honesty, I go for a look that fits with my username (the same one I'm using now), meaning, I go for a robotic Demoman look. However, the centerpiece of the Demobot set is the Alcoholic Automaton, which is a very unique cosmetic for demo that we have not seen for him in the past. Plus, i usually pair it with the MVM Robotic versions of certain cosmetics, so I at least have some synergy going for me.

id like more casual demo cosmetics the only ones we've got are summer cosmetics when i'd prefer just straight up something more casual instead of it being related to summer at the same time. like the hats are alrightish but im always having a problem with the rest of the outfit certainly since there's like 1 usable pair of pants for demo without going into a themed outfit.

Demo is the only class Ive ever had a problem coming up with loadouts for. I have been saying for awhile the bulky, upside down triangle type player model is the problem. There are only a couple cosmetics I really like for him. The kilt Cool Breeze and Tavish Crown. Since so many people wear the crown though its a non starter for me. Enjoyed this video, subscribed:)

I would agree, but some of the hats demo has are extremely unique, Tavish De Groot Experience is my favorite hat in the game. Great reference to Hendrix and is time appropriate!

I think there are multiple reasons demo just doesn't fit this well, and this is coming from a demo main an artist as a hobby. There are 3 issues I think demo has. 1. His vest is bulky and makes most cosmetics that would work well look worse. 2. He has a pretty basic body type. Many of the other mercenaries has easily recognisable silhouettes, and out of most of them, demo has the least unique, even if it is still unique as he still is a tf2 character. And at last, 3. He has a one-dimensional personalty. He's my favourite for his exaggerated personality, but compared to the other characters, he isn't that 'deep'. And that makes it so hat designers don't have much to work with. Really, although 2 cannot be helped, making his vest thinner and tf2 being more creative with him in general would be nice.

For me I think a part of Demo man that's barely ever been used in cosmetics is Demo man being an alcoholic like I would love to see a hangover look for him kind of like the one SpongeBob had in the original SpongeBob movie or maybe his own that isn't a reference to that. Also, there's been a cosmetic idea I've been thinking of for a while which is giving Demo Man back his eye but when a full moon or Halloween mode is on you can't use that cosmetic.

I was designing loadouts for all my mercs a few days ago and yo are so right: I had a rough time designing one for Demo (I eventually settled for Glasgow Bankroll + Plaid lad + Melody Of Misery) I like the ideas you proposed, the fact that we have very few explosive-themed cosmetics for a class that specialises in, well... explosives is odd to say the least. It would also be great to have some sea monster-themed of magic-themed cosmetics for demo, because of his lore on and btw, I met you on upward 5 days ago, I was the heavy who called you the "fortnite guy" XD
