Free the F2Ps Valve!

As a f2p I think this is a amazing idea

My F2P ass with 600 hours and none of them spent communicating with my team

I hope this reaches valve and give f2p a way to communicate with teammates, especially medics.

As a F2P I honestly want this to happen soon to have more team interactions or to avoid being kicked for being falsely acussed of being a bot and not being able to defend yourself

This is the reason I don't play a lot of casual and play with bots instead because I CAN ACTUALLY CALL FOR MEDIC INSTEAD OF SHOOTING SHOOTING LIKE A MANIAC IN FRONT OF A MEDIC FOR HIM TO HEAL ME.

As a f2p see a spy destroy my sentry or my team and looking at medics or passing them while burning and having 25 hp not able to call them its painfull

The issue is, what would stop bots and bot creators from spamming the mic in large numbers? The paywall helps prevent (but not totally stop) this problem, so Valve would need to find a method to separate human players from bots. A timer as you described is an idea, but can possibly be bypassed by bot makers.

I Think that a good idea would be a kick limit, if you get kicked from the game a certain amount of times under a certain time limit, you get temporarily banned, then if you surpass the limit again you get perma banned

As a f2p this is a good idea please do this I’m not spending money so I can CALL FOR HELP in a TEAM-BASED GAME

This will definitely fix it But knowing valve the next update is not coming out until the next protest

Valve can still block the text chat but at the very least still allow F2p players to use voice commands to even interact with their teammates.

I thought the same thing the other day! This would be an incredible update since f2p players can at least call for a medic when they need it

Theres sometimes some bots that have premium yes they can use voice chat spam voice lines and talk

Now I can finally tell them to not kill the friendlys

its a good idea for 50 hours of playtime but the bots can wait in menu screen to reach 50 hours and it won't fully help since bots can still join matches and the playtime will still go up

It’s also stupid that you need a in game purchase along with a general steam purchase i have spent about 250+ on games in steam and still can’t talk

The 50 voice chat thing will just give the bots voice chat back because most bots i run into have over 200 hours so that will not help much +it will just make voice chat free for the bots which means no money for valve

This is so bad that f2p cant even say something in chat, im f2p and there was a cheater in round, and i couldnt say that he is cheater

i found a fix for this but you have to buy the orange box with tf2 in it to give people voice chat and stuff

Frankly, I think valve.. doesn't care if TF2 dies out. I always had a feeling that they just blatantly hated the fact TF2 is still so popular, apposed to the newer/other games they've made, I feel like, they just don't care, the fact TF2 still managed to live this long is shocking,

i basically dropped tf2 for overwatch the moment i saw that i could not even call for medic or call for spy because at least overwatch does not hate it's players

make voice have a paywall due to mic spam and this idea is perfect

playing as a f2p on valve's servers is really unpleasant compared to community servers. we don't need much, the medic voice line is very good, maybe even the spy callout and the sentry ahead one as well. i understand it's been removed because bots kept spamming them but just a while ago i entered a server with about 4-5 bots that put random noises and earrape in vc as well as spamming voice lines. that's unfair considering that all the bot hoster had to do was to spend 20 bucks, 5 dollars each account...

good argument. and good work having a more casual voice, coild still use some work tho.

My thoughts: 50 hours unlocks voice commands. 100 hours unlocks text and mic chat. Spending at least $5.00 U.S in the Mann Co. Store unlocks all 3 right away.

As someone who has many F2P pals who play on community servers so they can speak, I think this would be great so ppl who are new F2Ps can just talk after 50 hours, and they get a notification to tell them this upon booting up the game.

It could be done, i have been F2P for a long time and finally got my premium stuff, it was cool to be able to talk to people again

I began playing tf2 after never being able to get a computer myself untill i was 20... It sucked, i died to spies that i couldnt call out, bots were atrocious and i ended up quitting the game...

I would be playing Casual 24/7 over Uncletopia and Skial if it wasn't for me not being able to talk

I mean adding voicemenu back to f2p's should be pushed 100% but i seen bots with over 500 hours so i think it wont be the best idea

Just let them speak without restriction. Don’t lock their ability to speak behind a time gate.

I'm still a f2p after a lng period of time when I couldn't talk and t just hurts not being able to thank or be thanked by the people you had fun with

Here's a bright idea how about just let free-to-play players have the ability to speak seeing as a majority of free-to-play games allow you to speak and TF2 is better than that.

as an f2p that has over 282 hours in tf2 I totaly agree, this block on text chat and voice command is the main reason I prefer tf2 classic

They just need to add a verification system and the problems solved

That won't work because bots can just idle for 50 hours, and if the F2Ps make it to 50 hours with no talking, most of them are either OK with it or will have bought premium by then.

wow this is somehow both reasonable and unreasonable just give F2P the ability to talk again period, doing otherwise is just a bad idea it's not like we are stopping anything because chat sabotage is still a thing with today's bots and voice chat spam still exists
