In this episode of TFBTV, James Reeves gets his hands on Sig’s newest pistol, the Sig P320 AXG. It’s no secret that Sig has been cranking out new variants of the Sig P320 given the modular nature of the platform, but this one is SIGnificantly different than prior iterations. The P320 AXG is the first factory Sig P320 featuring a metal frame. Like its P22X-series forebears, the P320 AXG will have a lightweight aluminum frame and removable, customizable grips, as well as a host of other options. Honestly Sig is innovating at a much higher rate than glock is. I mean all glock has release in the past while has been a .22lr and a few factory cuts on the slide.

@@justevil100 Glocks are a highly reliable, polymer, striker action pistol. The problem is that those features are not unique to Glock anymore. Right now, Glock has market support and brand loyalty on it's side. I don't think they will ever be outcompeted to the point that they go out of business. But, I could definitely see them not having the market cornered in the future.

@@mikef3808 the main problem is that right now glocks arent even exclusive to glock anymore. PSA has a glock for a lower price with the same parts comptability and reliability so soon there will be no real reason to buy glocks anymore.

I love it. I'm surprised there aren't more metal frame striker fired pistols. People love the weight/material of an all metal frame pistol and people love the consistent trigger pull of a striker fired pistol. Why don't we have more offerings that combine the two? I know Walther makes some of the best ones available with their PPQ Q4 SF and Q5 SF, some from Kahr (if I recall they were single stacks though), and a few others. Glad Sig decided to make one as well.

Because we as humans like to revolve..... Berettas are coming back? Lite weight guns are out (mainly because people can't shoot them as well).... Give it 8 to ten years....it will change again hahahaha

@@prone_wolf8871 Berettas never left. But metal framed pistols are better for most functional aspects, eg. shooting, recoil, rapid doubles. They're worse for carry. That said, this needs to be said outloud to so many people - NOT EVERY GUN NEEDS TO BE A CARRY GUN! Gosh, if you only have a gun for carry how are you supposed to have a bathroom gun?

The people asking sig for polymer framed pistols in the '90s/early '00s are NOT the same people asking for a metal framed 320. Lighten up, folks.

@@parsecboy4954 i'd love a 226. have a p320x and love it. can't wait to expand my sig collection with the 365 and 226 in the future. that said, really looking forward to adding a new metal grip module/frame to my p320x as that is my main gripe with an otherwise great firearm. i just want a little more weight for better handling with my grip and shooting style

I got my chance to shoot the AXG Scorpion and it is WONDERFUL. It even comes with updated magazine with individual round witness holes on the back instead of the 2 or 3 holes on the side. Magazine release button has also been updated and it feels great as well.

The separate aluminum grip module estimated cost is at 7:22 into the video. Sitting here, watching that slide, slightly out of battery ... triggered. Well, not with it out of battery it won't. I already have an FCU and two complete sets of other parts. I was just waiting to hear that they were going to offer the frame separate and the estimated cost.

80-90s: Sig P22x series, steel slide, aluminium frame, lightweight and durable, nice 00s: that stuff is outdated, it's all polymer frames now 10s: we've introduced tungsten powder to our polymer frame P320 for that extra weight frame 20s: Sig P320 series, steel slide, aluminium frame, lightweight and durable...totally new!

I picked one up last week. WOW, it’s very nice feels great, trigger is so smooth. This thing looks good enough to be a display wall hanger but that would be a waste. I’ve been a fan of the 320 for a few years, I carry one at work this one just feels and shoots so much better than my work gun. Can’t wait to see what else @SigSauer does with this.

7:47 looks like you could potentially be getting hit in the face with brass like a gen 4 Glock. Hopefully the ejection pattern is better on the final product.

Weird. I built a P80 which requires all Gen3 parts but we change the ejector to the Gen4 because they work. Gen3 gives us Fail to Feed all day long.

That looks more like the Glock recoil than the “rocking horse” recoil of the original model. The X grip helped a lot and it looks like the additional frame weight helped even more. “The grip module has been completely redesigned”. I wonder if the redesign leans more toward the X than the original and why the X grip wasn’t used. A little documentary on the concept to design to manufacture would be fun.

When I think of Sig, all metal duty handguns is the first thing that comes to mind. These are what the reputation of the company is built upon. Those models remain completely relevant with some still being issued. A metal framed 320 seems logical, and it’s a welcomed addition to the lineup. I personally would like to see returned the 22X series which are conceal carry oriented without rails, huge beaver tails, or the Legion series price tag. Recalling that the 226 competed neck and neck with the Beretta 92 in performance and initial firearm price, those today should sell on the commercial market for approximately $500-$600. The P227 Carry, much like a 45 version of the M11A1, would quickly find its way into my holster upon its return.

If you have a P365 or XL I recommend Icarus. They make aluminum grip modules. I picked up the XL module yesterday for $245. The non-XL i belive was just a few dollars less. And they do have a P320 model as well.

Isn’t the whole point of a carry gun to be lighter. I understand wanting a heavy gun for competition or target shooting to reduce recoil as much as possible but isn’t the whole point of an ultra compact carry gun to be comfortable to carry.

I’ve never bought a Sigg Sauer that I’ve been disappointed in and a metal frame P3 20 is just what I’ve been waiting for. Something that might be able to hold a candle to my CZ 75 comp gun. “Fluffy”. I always thought people that use polymer guns were fluffers.

I bought an leo trade-in p320 carry from aim surplus for the low. Like tree fiddy, ffl that did th transfer gave me a wilson combat grip for it. I ran that for a while but im such a fan of the 226 scorpion, that when i found out about the axg i decided i was going to build my 320 into a quasi scorpion. I freaking love this pistol. Tossing the fcu i to an aluminum frame, with the grip angle and profile of the axg is the bee's knees my dudes. Such a great feeling pistol. I shoot mine so much better than any of my other pistols with way less effort.

I’m not saying I’m not intrigued, but this sounds like it’s trying to sell old guys that usually carry 1911’s on buying a striker fired gun because now they can’t talk smack because the gun isn’t some cheap plastic like a Glock.

I like how they keep saying the FCU is different and when asked to clarify they say "it's special" ok. So no internal changes to FCU other than color? Just be transparent SIG.

He mentions a Classic version of styling.....being May 2021, that version (AXG Classic), is now starting to get released and I pick mine up tomorrow. It’s a damn beauty, I can not wait. I rented the Scorpion yesterday to get a feel for it before my Classic arrives. It’s really the same pistol in every way but styling and I loved it.

Jacob gm can’t find ammo at the moment. Why not grab an extra pistol? Then you can be even more excited for ammo to become regular again.

@@jeffturnbull9661 Yes, I live in Commiefornia and it's wonderful to have to live with featureless ARs without things like bolt catches. Speaking of Sig, I decided to buy an M400 TREAD (a great carbine for the moolah!), but naturally it came equipped with the CA compliant Hellfire mod kit, which actually makes it less safe since it makes it harder to engage the selector switch and change mags. Basically the state of California wants to slow down your ability to defend yourself.

Pricey, but as the owner of a Sig I imagine you'd know exactly where the money went if you shoot it, I absolutely love mine and have never once felt like it wasn't worth it. Great Stuff!
