​@@TFDiDesign To do this, they will have to completely remodel this MD-11. The exterior model is a mainstay of the Flight Simulator 2004 fleet. To me, it seems completely wrong-there is something very strange that mischaracterizes this aircraft. It doesn't seem worthy of MSFS. The textures are also horrible, appearing to have a 720p resolution. The normal map is ridiculous and even pixelated. The interior of the passenger model is ugly and of low quality; it looks like an trainee first modeling job. I know it's a WIP, but to say it's close to launch seems very strange to me. At the moment, it looks like the ugliest plane I've ever seen for MSFS. I bet on buying the CE model thinking it would be better or at least equal to the 717, but it doesn't seem like that at all. I hope the team changes this horrible look of the aircraft. The MD-11 deserves its place in the simulator; it is a wonderful and beautiful aircraft, but the TFDi model currently does not represent any of that. Note: The reflection in the ND appears to be an AI-created image of a DJ inside a passenger car wearing snowboarding goggles. Version: 0.44.0-alpha. If anything changes, I'll come back and edit it. I still have hope for the team...

@@Flyoverapp We'd just like to clarify a few of the accusations made here. Textures cannot be "720p" - all important parts of the aircraft are 4K (areas with text, etc.) and the rest is 2K where the memory overhead of 4K just isn't justifiable. The passenger cabin in the current Collector's Edition build is a placeholder while we revamped it. If you watch earlier development videos, you'll see the original high-detail cabin; the final cabin will surprass that one. Finally, the odd reflection in the ND has been fixed in our development versions already. The previous comment unfairly diminishes the work of the art team and we'd highly encourage anyone reading it to watch our other videos, watch videos from Collector's Edition customers, or check out the many screenshots in our Discord if you're concerned.

@@TFDiDesign I just want to clarify that these are not accusations, they are accounts of my experience as a user. Anyone who wants to see what I mentioned can find it on my channel. I'm not a KZfaqr; I just made this video to truly show what I'm talking about. I understand that some parts will be corrected, I made the video to map the development for interested parties. I really like TFDi, I had a problem with the installation of the 717 and Collin helped me for about 3 days, even did a remote access to figure out the problem. Regarding the textures, they may not be "720p" - but I think they are in very low resolution, the texts are in high resolution, that’s a fact. About the passenger cabin, "I loved hearing the news". I watched the videos, I was just surprised when I installed it and it wasn’t even close to what was shown, I thought it would have evolved since then. My comment is not meant to diminish anyone’s work, I want this aircraft to be wonderful both in systems and visually, and I have faith in you for that, but I felt like we are nearing the end and I can’t believe it will stay that way. About you strongly recommending that anyone who wants to know what the real aircraft is like should watch the videos from the Collector’s Edition customers, it makes it seem like I’m lying, I am one of the thousand Collector’s Edition customers and I can see what I reported in almost all the screenshots on Discord, on KZfaq people usually do a flight and don’t show any details, when they do the video quality is low and you can’t see clearly. In the screenshots on Discord, I see what I reported even though it is somewhat obscured, as most of the recent screenshots sent for the screenshot competition show the aircraft from a distance, I’d even say some went through AI software. That’s why I even created a channel and posted a video with what needs to be improved in my opinion, whoever wants to see it just access it. Anyway, TFDi keep working, my goal is not to harm you, I don’t even have that power, I’m just looking to be heard as a customer, after all, the phase when I can report this is now after it’s released, it won’t help anymore later.

@@Flyoverapp Yo, I'm the texture artist for the MD on the external mode. You're right about it not staying the way it is, and in fairness, some of the low quality nature of the texturing was due to other misc things (the dotted dirt is due to substance painter's brush not having enough step size, the smudge brush needs to be used instead). I'm also aware of the screws and panels having things that have much to be desired, and that is being fixed. In any case, the things you point out are in fact real, but won't be there for long.

KC-10 are modified DC-10's not MD-11's

There is much less wing flex in these generation airliners than newer generation like the B787's and A350's

It’s a two part answer. Do we “support” it? Yes - we allow time acceleration and make no attempt to prevent it. That said, autopilot performance is heavily degraded by time acceleration as we receive noticeably less data. Our code depends on realtime feedback from the flight model to behave correctly. Time acceleration denies us 75% (at 4x) of the data we need to keep the plane flying smoothly; we also plan on having a pause at top of decent option to help with overnight long hauls. At level flight, it should be smooth enough with a PIC monitoring. Collin

You’re in for a real treat, the MD-11 cockpit feels so homey and comfortable, it’s really hard to explain. I think these guys have nailed it.

On one side you are right with what you said about they shall take their time. On the other side I have to remind TFDI the following: I am a pre-sale customer and I have paid 80$ at the beginning of december 2023! It‘s now nearly half a year ago and I have nothing of MD-11 on my computer. That said I really do hope not to wait much longer and hope the team is working daily and hard on finishing and releasing the product! But after seeing this video and heard the explanations of Collin speaking of probably 6 weeks or more 😮(maybe less) I have no hope any more to see this beauty-trijet soon…😢. But: Thanks to the team. The EFB was made with a simpler and more plain UI intentionally. It trades a lot of eye candy and unnecessary waiting for speed and ease of use. Additionally, because it is built to look more "from the times", it won't become outdated as quickly in comparison to modern UIs. Ultimately, the goal is to make it serve its purpose as quickly and easily as possible to let you get back to flying with minimal hassle.

I think Pacx is dead. I can strongly recommend Self Loading Cargo. It has way more features than pacx and the Developer is very active!
