Andre, is simply the best I’ve seen/heard introducing and explaining vehicles. Whether with engineers, owners, or other hosts he works his way methodically through the vehicle discussing topics. Somehow he always seems to hit the questions I have. Great work Andre and TFL.

lol…. It’s not that it would have been a problem with control or breaking.. Ford has to meet emissions and safety standards in several countries. I think 33’s are a good “middle ground” for a “middle size” truck that must meet mileage and carbon emissions goals.

The video was over 50 minutes. Way past my normal attention span but Andre kept me engaged and wanting to watch longer. Also he didn’t repeat the same information over and over. After reading some of the other comments, I was not alone in how great he did. I wasn’t joking about a raise. I hope he reads all the comments because having 1-2 people say it was good is nice but all these people saying it is next level. I was so impressed. It’s a lot of work to do what he did. Hope he realizes how much his work is appreciated. He needs to know this.

TFL. I’ve enjoyed your videos for years. Your team is great. This one by Andre just hit it out of the park for me. No he isn’t paying me to say this. I just had to give you feedback. Based on the comments, I’m far from alone! To back up my comments, I’ll tell you why. It flowed so nicely. He kept on each truck not going back and forth he asked all the right questions and appeared more knowledgeable than the Ford folks. He missed nothing! You can’t do this unless you are prepared. He knows his facts. Being onsite with the two trucks just made it better. All I can say is that after 50 minutes, I wanted more! Usually I’m only good for 10 minutes. Therefore I needed to write you. I’m one viewer, but this video should be used as a case study on how to make successful KZfaq videos. I don’t think I’m alone in this thought. Keep up the great work.

@barryraven4745 compared to what? Times have changed. I get it, it sucks. But the Ranger starts at 30K, and a loaded Ranger Raptor is under 60K. Compared to it's 80K - 140K big brother, that's not terrible. Especially when you consider that the closest thing to "off-roading" most people actually do in these trucks will be in a road-work zone, or in the snow; Two places everyone else seems to manage just fine with much less. Again... the Raptor version is a luxury. If people like it, and can afford it, I say... go for it. I think for what you're getting, it's a lot of vehicle. But that's just my two coppers.

That's an impressive mid size truck, very nicely appointed and the payload capacity is fantastic. I like the design features and construction of the bed, the new interior is sweet and the front grill is nice. Wish Ford would stop treating Ranger as a penalty box for not buying an F series. I've had a full sized for 20 years and they have just gotten too big. Would love to go down to a smaller truck but...no sunroof, no cooled seats, no auto 4wd at almost $60k, and it's a shame they didn't carry the aluminum body over to Ranger. Look at a '15 F-150 here in the Midwest, the body still looks brand new, any other truck is already starting to rust. My neighbors '18 Ram, the front fenders around the headlights are already rusted through.

I bought a new 98 Chevy S-10 with sport trim (nice alloys, not much more) with AC and manual locks/windows that I think stickered a little under 14K for $5600 after a big employee discount (my brother worked for EDS), regular rebate, Saturn owner loyalty rebate, and $4000ish of GM credit card dollars from charging business travel on it (Marriotts every week added up). Then a guy rear-ended its tailgate that I'd flipped down, and insurance paid me $1000 without fixing it. Replaced it with a net, and I had a new truck for $4600. Then I beat the crap out of it towing a 6x12 trailer to auctions all around the country to bring stuff home in. It held up great, got 23mpg average with its 120hp 2.2 liter 4 and 5 speed manual. 13mpg towing on the highway. After owning it for many years, I sold it for more than I had paid. Those days are gone, I guess. Though I guess if you stick around the 32-34K base end of midsized pickups now, they are still a value. Good luck getting it out the door for 60% off MSRP though! Those days are definitely gone. When I bought it, they asked me how much deposit to put on my credit card until I got a cashier's check for the balance, implying that they wanted a lot right that minute, in case someone else walked in wanting it. I told them it was fine to charge the whole amount, it would save me a trip to the bank. Suddenly they only wanted $500 to hold it, hahaha. The 5% or whatever, of that deposit that became more GM Card dollars, helped me get a 2003 Silhouette with $29K sticker for $19K. Drove that sucker 190K miles with original plugs and original coolant before the mice decided to own it 13 years later. Last Ford I bought new was an '85 Merkur XR-4Ti. The 2.3 turbo in it was built to bulletproof specs, unlike Mustang SVO and Thunderbird Turbo Coupe. Sort of wish I didn't sell it for 7% of what I'd paid, after driving it 140K fun miles. Should have stuck it in a cargo container in a barn.

It's good to see Ford bring back the V6 when other manufacturers are going to strictly turbo 4CYL in their lineup. I'm a Frontier owner but has always liked the Ranger, the only downside was the 4CYL. Other than quality issues I think the Ranger with a V6 is a competitive option over the new Tacoma.

If a truck manufacturer cares about the tire sidewall stifness for better steering response then the debate is over. The best truck out there. The RR has a waiting list of over 2 years in Europe and Australia, and these ppl are not stupid.

In a way yes, in a way no. Being locked into a tire model which will definitely become obsolete and likely also unavailable or super expensive in the future, to keep your truck performing as intended, is iffy.

I in Australia have a 2023 Ford Everest which I love, it’s a Ranger based SUV designed by Ford Australia with the 3.0 Diesel Powerstroke engine, it’s built in Thailand hopefully with a lot of supervision and has coils at the rear with the watts link ( as per raptor ranger) I think this car will be a huge seller in the US. Fly to Aussie ( we will pay the beer) and review this wow car.

No moonroof available? I know many don’t like them, but I enjoy them and do use them regularly. How is that not even an a la carte option? All the competitors offer such option. This product lacks other features the competition offers for same or less money - heads-up display, ventilated seats should at least be available on Lariat trim level. New interior, yet Ford still chose to not incorporate 60/40 rear seat. De-contented the rear center A/C vents from other markets. Lame. You can still tell Ford intentionally holds back the Ranger in certain instances. I’ll give credit for the 2.7TT V6/ 10AT combination.

For me, it’s good to get a well equipped truck without a sunroof which in my experience, squeaks, leaks and creaks. What’s not so good is the inability to get a longer bed with a smaller club cab. And I like steel. My aluminum 22 F-150 seems flimsy compared with my old 2009 F-150. Overall, however, the new Ranger appears well done.

It looked like Andre was considering trading in his turbocharged 4-cylinder Colorado for a 2.7 EcoBoost 6-cylinder Ranger. I'm glad that somebody besides Volkswagen is putting 6-cylinder engines in mid-sized trucks. I think all trucks that have the "Raptor" name should have Raptor lights. Most of the Toyota Tacoma trucks that I see on the road have Raptor lights to try to make them look cool.

@alsnow3582 I first heard about the Volkswagen Amarok 6-cylinder diesel being a joint project between Volkswagen and Ford on the 4WD 24-7 Ute review. The problem is that interesting mid-sized trucks like the Volkswagen Amarok and Mitsubishi Triton aren't sold in North America. When Ford started putting 4-cylinder EcoBoost engines in trucks, I hated what Ford was doing. Then all the other car manufacturers started copying them, and I thought it was a stupid decision not to give customers any engine options. Now, Ford has seen the error of their ways and is giving customers a 6-cylinder opinion to help these heavy so-called mid-sized trucks that are over 4000 lbs with more displacement. I think the Ranger Raptor is a great truck design but too expensive. The 2.7L and 3L 6-cylinder engines are a little small compared to the old GM port injected naturally aspirated 4.3L V6 that I prefer, but it is better than nothing.
@aerynlovell4754
@aerynlovell4754 4 ай бұрын
@dillonh321 That’s right. I forgot about the Nissan Frontier and the Honda Ridgeline because all people do is complain about how the Frontier is not as stylish and modern as all the other mid-sized trucks. Like Andre's new and modern Nitro Colorado that has such cool styling, but the gauge screen stopped working, and the battery was killed by a glitchy over-the-air update. And people say the Ridgeline isn't a real truck because it is a unibody, and a real truck is body on frame. There were musclecars that were unibody, but I guess if you have a truck, it must meet the "Internet Truck Standards."
