Lmao that's not true at all, qirong has lived with his aunt since he was 4 years old and always lived with all the luxuries and education. Xie Lian's mother said that she raised Qirong and Xie Lian in the same way but she didn't understand why he was like that. The queen spoiled Qirong very much, there is a scene where she is giving grapes in Qirong's mouth while he is sitting on her legs so he was always loved (he was 15 lol) With Xie lian their relationship was also good, but Qirong was obsessed with him and Xie lian spent more time training than with his own family, he also had no duty to raise him, they are only 2 years apart. Qirong was always an obsessive and classist psychopath, but his character is funny lol.

@@beleno8447 while some of that is true, I still think he was neglected. I find him hilarious and misunderstood. He only knew abuse, until Xie Lian’s family took him in, and he only knew neglectance. And you can say Xie Lian’s mother cared for him, but getting a bunch of gifts but being ignored is still neglecting. Xie Lian treated him like a burden, and I can understand why, but still. He was a child and idolized the only one that treated him as human, just like humans idolize gods or celebrities. He was either abused or neglected, he wasn’t taught right or wrong because he was either abused, abandoned, sent out to be by himself, or locked in a room. They didn’t actually teach him what he was doing was wrong. And how could he know it was wrong if that was all he knew? Guoshi wanted nothing to do with him too. All of this adds up to why he acts like a tall child, spitting on the floor but then awkwardly cleaning it up because he noticed how immature it was, giggling over stupid stuff, all of it. And the part where he wanted to save Xianle? Obviously he wanted to save the kingdom. He didn’t know the way to solve it was murder, and he wanted to save the kingdom, so why would he not push for the answer? That shouldn’t be blamed on him or mu qing. Because mu Qing had his dying mother and the kids he always took care of in the middle of the place where the plague was the strongest, on the streets. And qi Rong just wanted to save Xianle. The first person to actually care and love him was Guzi, and that’s why he became himself. He would hide away and eat by himself so that Guzi wouldn’t be with him, and he sacrificed his life for him. It’s canon that qi rong was a better father than Guzi old one, and that saddens me. Another reason is he was just a pretty good side character and a small obstacle that pissed off the main characters, which people like a lot. Both of the main characters have their flaws and deserve to be pissed off sometimes. Honestly, if he had been the main character, people wouldn’t hate on him or his actions as much. Because both of the main characters have done what qi rong has, yet it’s justified just because they’re main characters and have angst, and you have more backstory on them. But if you actually look into the side characters stories, you can see a lot more than just a side character, or comedic relief. Anyway, I just love misunderstood and snarky characters. Hence why I love qi rong, mu Qing, and Shen jiu.

@@looser765 You are justifying a psychopath lol All we know about him is that his father was abusive to his mother and left them at age 4 then he lived with his aunt full of luxury and love, you say they were negligent with qr but why? In the novel it says they gave him education, care and love but he turned out to be a classist person, always abusive to everyone around him just because he had money and was part of royalty. He was also a psychopath since he was human he beat and tortured an innocent child, after almost running over people with his carriage he didn't want to take responsibility and made FX break his arm since FX accidentalme hurt him when he was arresting him, Qr was always look down on everyone who wasn't part of the royalty and that's why the people hated him. Qirong was educated on what was right and wrong but the problem is that he never wanted to learn, he just kept living in his bubble putting his cousin on an altar just because he was powerful he never really saw him as a loved one. XL was never a psychopath who enjoyed hurting others and torturing people just for fun even after all his suffering, he never thought he was more important than a peasant just because he was a crown prince that's the difference between the 2 of them. In the edited version of tgcf that came out last year, mxtx made Qirong much more insane, he was much more cruel and crazy. But with all this I don't want to say that I don't like it His character, in fact, is one of my favorites, a funny psychopath.

But I do want to say that, yes, Xie Lian wished death and destruction on all of what’s their name I forgot- how tf did I forget?? I can’t the name of the kingdom out of my brain??? But yeah it took one person to save him, but he did go psycho for a bit. Now I’m not saying he’s the worst person, and I’m not saying qi rong is a good person, but he and hua cheng have done things to people that qi rong has, too. And he wasn’t really taught right or wrong, he was just told not to do it, no consequences or reasoning to what he was doing was wrong. He was just locked in a room or sent out to play alone. Now, his aunt did treat him nicely, but the thing is, they spoiled him. When Fengzin hurt QR, the king was literally on QR’s side. If the king has the same mindset, I don’t think QR would learn from that. If he were told that was unjust, then maybe it wouldn’t have happened. I’m not saying QR is good, nor that you should pity him or something, I’m saying the king was a horrible person too and all the people in his life minus the queen (and I guess XL because he ignored him) were all bad people, and obviously he wouldn’t learn that it was a bad thing if he was continuously in a situation with a person like that. Being spoiled and being around bad people just makes it even worse. I know people told him not to do bad things, but didn’t explain how it was bad and just said not to do it. No consequences to his actions, which even in every day life I see and I hate the parents for that. Kids aren’t gonna learn if they’re just spoiled and given life without consequences. It makes them bad people because they think that they can do anything because they have power and know they’ve never had consequences. But I mean many looked down on the common people. Now I’m kinda pissed about that, because what did they do? Just because they’re not royalty doesn’t mean they aren’t deserving. But even Mu Qing was bullied and bashed for being of common birth. Heck, even guoshi disliked him, for whatever reason. Fengzin was also an asshole to him, maybe not for being of common birth, but he was always blaming him for stealing, which I see as him thinking the common people always steal because they’re poor. But yeah, qi rong was definitely something else… his actions were horrible but for some reason he almost never had a consequence. But yeah, I agree that he’s a psychopath and not a good person, and I agree he shouldn’t be justified. But neither should the main characters. Or any other character that people like. The only person I *almost* fully justify is Mu Qing, and that’s because of many reasons. But yes he’s definitely a fucking hilarious character, that’s why I love him. Along with his and Guzi’s relationship, it’s kinda adorable. Well, it *was*.

Qi Rong is very obviously Xie Lian's cousin, they are both very pretty.
