Oh mercy, it has been a while since I saw this film, its fantastic to see a French icon such as Monsieur Montand and my platonic girlfriend of all times Candice Bergen, their images together with this musical hymn to the joy of living entice you to be alive! Thanks for posting this everlasting theme... JB

Claude Lelouch's "Live for Life" is in the same family as his "Man and a Woman", both are super romantic and come with honey-sweet music scores by Francis Lai. I loved these movies when I watched them eon-years ago. I give credit to Lelouch's filmic style which influenced film makers all around the world for decades. Now watching this video brings back many sweet memories. Still A. Girardot is my favorite over C. Bergen. Thanks for posting this clip.

saw this in the cinema in London when it opened....this was set to the opening credits with newsreel of the Vietnam war before the Americans got involved ...powerful cinematography ...unforgettable.

That track was called "All at once, it's love" a vocal by Louis Aldebert, I think. Very 60s rock. It was actually a song from Lai's earlier "A Man and a woman," reworked with a rock beat and english lyrics. The other vocal was "Now You want to be loved" by Nicole Croiselle. It was more sweeping.

IL ya des femmes belles esthétiquement,mais Annie girardot avait un supplément d'âme..ce n'était pas juste une belle femme mais une femme émouvante,vibrante et profondément sensible,a la fois gaie et triste d'une tristesse immense parfois.;une femme comme on en fait plus,avec Romy schneider..

Annie una actriz símbolo de lo que es ser femenina con clase, belleza natural , con una actuación y un cache, que ahora es muy difícil de encontrar, definitivamente estamos viviendo una pandemia en todo sentido, su actuación en Morir de Amor es inolvidable, conmovedora, RIP estrella, nunca dejaras de brillar.

Lelouch and his vision of the world and specially during the sixties, in 1967, a year you haven't lived, obviously. I LIVED IT. I have seen Amsterdam. It was full of contre culture hippie Claude Lelouch ignores completely. France missed the sixties. It's petit bourgeois, boring and stupid. Fuck France, Fuck Lelouch and Fuck you.

@robertoeleei @palatinesouth.Just to point out that "Now you want to be loved" is sung both in French(by Annie Girardot herself!) and in English(by Nicole Croiselle).I've got a cd of "Vivre pour vivre" which is an oddity itself:released in Japan,it was purchased in Paris.All the information in the booklet appears in Japanese,but at the end they included the original lyrics of "Now you want to be loved" (Des ronds dans l'eau) and "All at once,it's love"(Aujourd' hui cest toi).Splendid soundtrack!

Simplemente una maravillosa película. Robert tuvo varios romances pero con Candice ya se estaba enamorado o no se, pareciera eso. Al final se queda con su esposa.

J'ai beaucoup aimé ce film, je l'ai vu plusieurs fois. Mais la scène ou ils pourchassent les animaux en plusieurs voitures en Afrique, est abominable.
