Introduction : Foods which are to be eaten if you have thyroid imbalance. Foods to include to increase metabolism.
Iodine food rich - Iodine is very important for optimum thyroid function. Daily requirement varies in adults (150 mcg for non pregnant adults). After iodization of salt iodine deficiency of salt (hypothyroidism, goiter) in public has been reduced. Various salts like Himalayan salt, rock salt, kosher salt, shendha namak, black salt has less iodine than iodized salt.
other sources - Sea weed (nori sheet used in sushi) wakame sea weed, Sea food (rohu, salmon, shrimp, crab, lobster, prawn), Egg yolk (has 16% daily iodine requirement), Dairy products (yogurt, dahi, paneer, milk).

Selenium rich food - It has antioxidant and reduces free radicals. it activates the thyroid hormone.
Nuts and seeds (brazil nuts, Hazel nut, Macadamia nut, pista, flax seed, sesame seed, chia seed, sunflower seeds) Palak, brown rice, mushroom.
non vegetarian sources- fish, tuna, shrimp, sardines.
meat products- beef, turkey, ham, chicken, mutton
zinc rich food- helps in activating thyroid hormone (t3 and t4), helps in TSH production.
zinc rich food- Legumes and beans (kidney beans), yogurt, sea food- sardine, tuna, shrimp, cod, crab, prawn, lobster.
Pectin rich food- like apple, pear, plum. pectin reduces mercury poisoning in cell.
Antioxidant rich food - berries, blueberry, bell peppers, capsicum
Legumes and Beans- rich in fiber and zinc. They increase sluggish and slow metabolism and helps in weight management. Helps in constipation relief.
