There is so much Thai street food in Thailand and Thailand is known for being one of the best places in the world for eating street food. In this video I take you on a tour of the street food at a night market in Trang Thailand to find some delicious street foods.

All of the dishes in this video are very common as Thai street food, but you will also find them at Thai restaurants. You’ll find Thai street food on many street corners in Thailand, as well as at every market, be it in Trang, Krabi, Phuket, Bangkok or Pattaya. Thai food has taken many influences from Chinese food so you will find many familiar flavours. Thai food markets and night markets are some of the best places to buy fresh and authentic Thai food while you travel in Thailand. There are loads of Thai food markets and night market all over Thailand, you’re never far from one. At the markets you'll find so many Thai dishes on offer and the foods here are cheap, and so tasty! And in case you’re worried, eating Thai street food is perfectly safe. It’s what the locals eat and it is cooked fresh and sold quickly. I’ve been eating it nearly daily since April 2012 in Thailand and my friends who have been to visit and tour Thailand have all eaten it, and none of us have had any problems. Thai street food is some of the best Thai food you’ll find in Thailand!

Hi Folks, Hope you are all doing well! We’ve been busy, and the Covid situation in Thailand is not so good for getting out and about, so this week’s video is a re-upload from a video we did some time back that had copyright issues, back when the world was normal, pre-Covid. The video features a great street food night market in Trang, which is well off the tourist track, but which has great food and lovely people. The video has been re-edited and updated, and we have been back to this market since we filmed this and the information and prices are still current. I regret not going to more night markets when I was in Thailand couple of years ago. 😫 I pray 🙏 for the Thais since Thailand is experiencing another wave of Covid. Are the people of Thailand getting vaccinated? Here in the US, all Americans can get vaccinated if they choose to.

@sactownism Yes, some Thai people are being vaccinated. Vaccinations started here in February 28, 2021. At the time of my reply (May 11, 2021), 1,498,617 vaccinations had been given in total, and the population of Thailand was estimated at around 70 million. This site gives the current Covid infection and vaccination numbers in Thailand: covid19.who.int/region/searo/country/th If everything goes according to plan, hopefully a vaccine will be available for my family and I in Thailand before the end of 2021. I hope that helps 🙏

Thanks Mike! At the moment my focus is on keeping my family safe. There is currently a lot of Covid here in Krabi, and in Thailand in general. As an example this was part of a message I received from a subscriber recently- I have come to Thailand from the UK for a few weeks touring, have to get on with life at some point! Sadly despite been triple jabbed and not having caught Covid in the UK, I caught it here within seven days of landing. Additionally Aorn and I have been both very busy with our jobs for a number of months. We'll be making more videos when it is safe for us to do so, and our schedules allow. Thanks Mike. This was 2018. The local government announced yesterday that there are 3 high risk areas in the province where we live (Krabi). Unfortunately the little town where we live is one of them. It looks like we'll be lying low for a while.

Hi guys from England. I hope you're all well? I think about our trip to Ao Nang and Railay all the time. I saw a video recently that shows Ao Nang where lots of places are closed and deserted. So very sad for everyone there. Here things are a lot better. I've been to a full premiership football match and a full arena for a comedy show. We just have to show our covid, vaccine passport. Hi Nabil, I hope you are doing well. Unfortunately Thailand is in what is really its first wave of Covid, so we haven't been out and about making videos. We actually haven't been out and about doing much, since April. Restaurants have restrictions on dining in, many vendors are not going to the markets, there is no eating at the markets where we live, and there are also added restrictions for travel within Thailand. Right now my priority is to keep my family safe and well, sadly it is not a good time for us to be out and about trying to make videos. There will be more videos coming when the situation improves. We are coming to Krabi end of July/ Aug and would be great full if you could recommend somewhere an area to stay which would be good for street food, beaches and bars as we are looking for the best that Krabi has to offer. Hi Mike and Michelle, Unfortunately you're not currently going to find "an area" which is good for street food, beaches and bars because of the Covid situation. Currently all bars in Thailand are closed due to Covid restrictions. They closed in May and there is no indication from the government on when they might reopen. The best beaches in Krabi are in the Railay and Klong Muang areas, but sadly there is not much street food there currently. A lot of people also like Ao Nang Beach, but there are about 40 street food vendors in the whole town at the moment. The best street food is in Krabi Town, but it's about 15 km from the nearest decent beach. All of the places I mentioned are great in their own right, but you are unfortunately not currently going to find everything you want in the one area. I hope that helps. All the best, Darren

Hi Simmo, Yes, we're all well thanks, but Thailand is in what is really its first wave of Covid so we haven't been out and about making videos. 2 and a half months ago, on April 1, Thailand had had less than 30,000 Covid cases since the pandemic began. As of now Thailand has had over 218,000 cases and the numbers don't seem to be declining. Thailand actually opened for visitors in October 2020. There are plans to make it easier for tourists to come, but the plans keep changing. We'll have to see what happens. You stay well too 🙏

Unfortunately there is a lot of Covid here where we live, and we are doing what we can to ensure we stay safe. Many people I know have had Covid here now and someone I knew died from Covid here recently. Restaurants have had restrictions on dining in for some time, many vendors are not going to the markets, some markets are gone completely, there is no eating at the markets where we live, and there are also added restrictions for travel within Thailand. It is not a good time for us to be out and about trying to make videos, right now I am focused on keeping my family safe. Hope you are doing well! All the best, Darren

Yes, there are restaurants which are currently open and you will find street food vendors too. Just keep your eyes open :)

Thanks. I'm happy that Thailand is open for international tourists. Many of my friends, as well as millions of others, are employed in the tourism sector and it certainly helps them if international tourists come. They have been really struggling since the pandemic began.

On April 1, 2021, Thailand had had less than 30,000 Covid cases since the pandemic began. As of now Thailand has had over 948,000 cases and the numbers of new cases per day is increasing, and every other day it is a new record high for both new cases and deaths. Restaurants have restrictions on dining in, many vendors are not going to the markets, and there are also added restrictions for travel within Thailand. Right now my priority is to keep my family safe and well, sadly it is not a good time for us to be out and about trying to make videos. There will be more videos coming when the situation improves.
