Absolutely! I would say about 50-75% of the people who come aren't necessarily "fighters" but want to train like one. You are more than welcome to come and hopefully we'll see you at a future camp!

Tough choice! Of course I'd recommend my camps (I may be a bit bias) but it's only because I know that the team environment and opportunities to explore bangkok/watch fights at stadiums is pretty epic stuff.

Reo Foxx he is the presenter for Thai Fight and Super Muay Thai as well as being a Bangkok based actor and model. he is very famous in Thailand and is a major ambassador for the sport of muay thai encouraging Wealthy Thai's to get into following the sport. Muay Thai is traditionally a Loso sport associated with Poverty and Gambling addicts. Matthew wants to see that perception change.

+Jordan Geary Bevans DO you know any camps that teach old school thai martial arts like Muay Boran and Krabi Krabong along side Muay Thai. I want to learn all three.
@mekongfarang
@mekongfarang 8 жыл бұрын
+Muhammad Ali Faruqi well Tiger Muay Thai has a Muay Boran Instructor and Krabi krabong classes... but I don't recommend that gym to anyone being that its more of a resort and tourist activity than a authentic gym. everything is watered down most of the trainers have no enthusiasm and complain about being underpaid when the gym is a multi million $ business... to learn Muay Boran you don't need to go to any special gym in particular almost every traditional Thai gym will have will have trainers and active fighters who can teach you ancient Muay Boran techniques and after training you can joke around and learn some muay boran... I Recommend going to Phuket to Train But NOT TMT there are Many good gyms to choose from and you can explore the island on a motorbike and visit a few gyms before you decide which one you want to train at. muaythaicampsthailand.com is a great site for reading up on camps all around Thailand The Muay thai guy does some great work!

+Jordan Geary Bevans Thanks for he info. I was actually opting for TMT because they give muay boran and krabi krabong classes. But I'll do my research.

What levels can attend this gym? Or any Thai gym for that matter.
@seanfagan
@seanfagan 8 жыл бұрын
+omgitsgmo to attend a training camp at this gym we ask for you to have at least a decent understanding of the fundamental techniques and have been training for at least 6 months. For other Thai gyms, it all depends on the gym, but a majority in Thailand cater to foreigners from beginners to pro fighters.

Be honest, do all the farangs suck pretty bad and this is just a really nice gym for bad farangs to come and pretend to be nak muays? Because I see a lot of 200+ pound in pretty good shape white males with a lot of tattoos that look like they are going half speed and no power on the kicks.
@seanfagan
@seanfagan 8 жыл бұрын
+Ben Jackson first off, a "nak muay" is a student, so I don't see how any of these people can be "pretending" to be one. Secondly, Khongsittha generally caters to the local Thai's as a fitness gym, but also has champion trainers as well as a handful pro fighters who compete regularly. Lastly, the Nak Muay Nation training camps held there are for people who want to immerse themselves in a serious training camp with a team of other practitioners. The skills/experience levels range from early intermediates (1-2 years of experience) to amateur and pro fighters. And who are you to judge the speed/power on their kicks? You have no idea what number session this is or how intense the earlier session in the day was. And what about if they wanted to focus on technique or were working on something specific other than going 100% balls to the wall? It could've been the final day after 6 days straight of intense training and you would have no idea. Just being honest.

+Sean Fagan (Muay Thai Guy) thanks for the reply it's always nice to gather more information about gyms in Thailand. It is very true that maybe the people in the video were dead ass tired. But when trainers feign falling down from kicks that shows me that the general attitude in the gym is to show the farangs a good time and pocket their money rather than train a possible competitive fighter. But as I understand it that's what these people look for when they want to "immerse themselves in the experience." Also I see a lot of "1-2 kick" pad holding that I was warned about by this dude named Aaron Jahn on Muay Thai scholar.
