The cafe on the Worcestershire Beacon brings back memories of my earlier walks on the Malverns in the 1980s. Unfortunately the cafe was destroyed by a fire over Christmas 1988.

I remember the cafe on the beacon, I watched it burn down that evening in 89 from my prep school.

Town centre and anywhere close to the hills - yes. The newer estates sprawling out towards Worcester, not so much.

Does any one know the where abouts of the monkeyhouse? I know my granddad used to cycle from Worcester to such a place...he'd volenteer to make up their fire in exchange for cyder

The monkey house is in the Defford area..they still sell cider.A few miles from malvern. I live in Tewkesbury
