I am a resident of Thane for past 43 years. Thane is called city of lakes. In 16th century it had 60 lakes but as of date it has 7-8 lakes left. Till 2000 Thane was a normal city full of congested roads, dirt lying everywhere. It changed drastically under the Thane Commissioner Mr. Chandrashekar from 2000-2004. he was a non corrupt officer and transformed Thane. wide roads, demolition of illegal bunglows including that of politicians of Congress, shiv sena and other parties, lots of greenary and beautification of lakes. Due to his demolition drive of demolition of politicians bunglow, he was issued transfer order from state government. The entire Thane citizens including rickshawwallas, slum dwellers, comman man, housewives came on road to show solidarity and protest the governments order.The order was cancelled and he continued the good work. Thane was then awarded the cleanest city in India. luckily from then till today it has gone on improving and lots of people from mumbai came and settled in Thane giving it a real estate boom.

Shows the deep ridden hatred for India. We should just ignore them completely.

It is Thane, pronounced as Than-A, just 20 odd kms from Mumbai, and just a few kms from Navi Mumbai. Within a radius of few kms and a few minutes away, we have 3 cities.
