I really like what Joey said at the end about not forgetting people who helped your career. When you see a big star in comedy, movies, music, sports whatever, a lot of people helped them get there. Really no matter what you do even outside of entertainment if you find success don't forget who helped you. There are no self made people. Someone gave a spot in a show when you weren't known, gave you your first instrument, went to bat for your idea with their boss, took a chance on hiring you for a position etc.

This Mothafucka Said It’s a weird one. We can’t go around saying that there is more to life than money then criticise people who have money for complaining about issues. I don’t think every celebrity is completely out of touch - although a lot of them are - and I think issues involving race and gender still apply to people who lead affluent lives.
@TomCL-vb6xc4 жыл бұрын
Axel von Axelsson You should count yourself very lucky, then. I’m going to assume you are a white guy like me and that’s why these issues seem non-existent in day-to-day life. yannick banks Good thing I never said that every black person experiences them. However, from my conversations with people of colour, it seems to be a very common aspect of their daily experience. @@Jiff321 Well imo both statements are right. I go to a comedy club to laugh and be entertained, thats spot 1 on the priority list without a doubt. However i do appreciate it when a comedian can talk about something thats going wrong in our society right now, make me laugh about it and maybe give me something to think/just bring it back into my mind how stupid some things we do actually are. And in my expierence there arent many other Art forms out there where someone can talk about stuff without a Filter in front of his/her mouth. So to some degree comedy is the Dark room where people go to hear uncomfortable truths, its obviously not written on PR sign "COME HERE AND HEAR THE TRUTH", but its also one of the few if not the only place where you will hear it at all.

The point about staying in contact with people who helped you along the way is a great attitude to have. Far too often people get tossed away when they are perceived to not be of benefit to others.
