The gorgon is actually based on something that actually existed. A gorgonops, Inostrancevia.

They were synapsids, which are the same line as mammals, that lived before the dinosaurs. They're very interesting.

On the whole "when have you ever seen a giant robot for anything other than a war machine?" I wanna point out that there were actually some transformers who never legitimately fought, or only fought as a measure of self defense. Ratchet is one that easily comes to mind, my favorite Autobot. There were some cybertronians who were actually pacifistic and never got involved in the war as well.

Have good looking MOC build by your own, send them an e-mail with a link tosome photos of it (on flickr for example) and if it is detailed and accurate enough it might be sold in the future.
