Was different gravy for us during the promotion season. His partnership with sharp was amazing and he was one of only a couple of players to emerge from last season with a bit of credit due to his endless work rate and consistent performances. Poor man’s Dennis Bergkamp and I mean it as a complement. He always looked good for Ipswich but never realised just how good he was. Great control, intelligence, passing and awareness with a fantastic work rate and team player. The irony is he was a striker when the weakness in his game was shooting and heading. One of.my favourite players, will miss you. Good luck in the future.

he came to our club as David McGoldrick,he's leaving it as Didzy,that's all you need to know why us Blades took to him with great affection,that's why we love the man because there was something special about him and how he played for us with so much joy and simplicity,two of the fundamentals needed to play the beautiful game .We have been so blessed that it was at Bramall Lane where he landed and spread his wings and beard lol.How we're going to miss that big toothy mischievous grin and that unique goal scoring celebration of his.His birth certificate & passport will have him down officially as David James McGoldrick but to us,he's Didzy which means no other team or opposition supporter can claim him as one of their own because he belongs to us.In years and decades to come when someone decides to research & write the ultimate book on the history of our beloved club,for the page for year 2018 it will simply say,that's the year Didzy arrived,the rest is history.Let us not forget that it was as a Sheffield United player he scored his one and only international goal for the Republic of Ireland in 2019 and in the following year he was named as the 2019 FAI Senior International Player of the Year.Should you read this Didzy,we thank you from the bottom of our red & white hearts for what you gave us in those four years and you can be guaranteed where ever you go in the world and for as long as you live,there will be one of us somewhere in it who will see you and shout out,Didzy
