It's been 60 years since my Daddy died. I'm retired now from being an airline pilot... I've got eight grandkids. Ive been a bear, wild boar and deer hunter, and a skydiver. Yet the pain is as strong today as it was so long ago. Never think that a big, strong man can't or shouldn't cry.

Kind of Similar story: Dad died in 2004. I’m 22 years old his dream and my dream was to make me a Pilot. 19 years since then. Still remember when he asked son what you want to become when you grow old I said a Pilot. My dream got crushed. You know how people start using you when they know you’re Invulnerable. I just hope someday I can make his dream come true. Aww man sometimes I can’t hold back my own tears. Just wishes to see him in heaven if I can get to heaven.

Like so many here, my father has also passed. To any younger folks here: Your parents won't be here forever. Make sure they know you love them, through your actions and your words as well. And while mothers often get their deserved credit, don't forget about daddy. He has fought more battles for you than he told you about.

I made sure that I told him that I love him every night when I would get him ready for bed when I started taking care of him almost seven years ago. I regret nothing, but I wish that he could still be with me and grandma in person. I love him forever.

It’s about to hit one year and me and my dad was ride or die I’m basically the female version of him and. Eva use of situations I never had him he never got to raised me but he was still there and in my life and then as I got older I came to be with my dad and had the best two years before his passing I had with him was amazing but I knew something was gonna happened and so when finally got him back before that when I got the news like I can’t deal I wish I had more time and still not over it March 16 will be a year

I understand what ylur going through my dad passed away last year in June due to brain cancer, I'm glad that he is not in pain but I've missed him everyday he was everything to me he had lung cancer for a 8years and then brain cancer for 2 years I got an extra 10 years with him. I'm 20 and now having a kid thats due in October I just wish he could see me become a father and for him to be a grandad i couldn't even spend Christmas 2020 with him cause I wasn't living at home, I just miss him everyday he was my world to me I cherished every moment I had with him I just hope he's proud of me.

I lost my father when I was 17 to cancer. My father was more than just a father, he meant the world to me. We were very close and I spent as much time possible with him that I could. I am 51 years old now and the feelings of loss are just as strong now as they were when I was 17. I still shed a tear each time I think about him. I can only wish to become half the man that he was, then I will know that I've contributed something to this world before I die. Rest in peace always, Dad, until we meet again someday in Heaven! We lost our dad 37 years ago. He was with my family during his figth from cancer. Our dad was not perfect, but mom and dad tried their best to raised 8 children. Surely, it was painful when I was driving him to the hospital for surgery. A few days later, after the proceeding, he'd left us. Very true!! My daddy died yesterday and that is exactly what I keep repeating cause he thaught us so many things except how to continue to live without him. I just cant and don't know how to live without him. He was such an awesome father , such a perfect person. He just didn't deserve to go out the way he did with this damn f***en covid. He was one of the first to get fully vacinated and so strictly cautious about it. Took a seriously from the start and wouldn't go out anywhere that wasn't absolutely necessary with 💯 caution. Now we lost such a great amazing husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and brother. We really lost a truly awesome, great and incredibly beyond surperb human being which no words could or ever be able to describe or express the type of person and rare unique soul we lost. Heaven needed an angel and GOD only takes the best!!! But I still can't push through this unbearable hurt feelings, this pain is way too much then I can handle.🙏💔😭💔😭🙏

I lost my "apa" Summer of 2002 to cancer. He is my everything. I will always love him. I was his caregiver to the end. He passed away in my arms and God gave me the blessing of hearing his last words and talk about things. He helped many and was respected by the neighborhood. A very special and blessed man was taken to heaven that night at 9:15 pm. No regrets everything we needed to say was said. Everything we needed to do was done. my dad passed away over a yrs ago on may 27th. it was the worse day of my life. the sun stopped shining that day and too me it will never shine again. a man with a heart of gold went into the sunset and rode away. i love u dad always and forever.

Daniel, I can relate to your pain. I know that your dad would not want you to hurt like you are hurting. He would want you to pass on what he taught you.To show love to anyone who is hurting.My dad had a saying he live by. PEOPLE WILL ALWAYS WANT TO KNOW HOW MUCH YOU CARE AND NOT HOW MUCH YOU KNOW.😁.Try doing that and you will see your dad in yourself.

This is one of the most beautiful songs i've ever heard. I work in the funeral business and heard this song for the first time a week ago on a funeral. It touched me. I was 7 almost 8 when my dad died so I can’t remember much. I remember he worked really hard to provide for 5 young children. I loved seeing him come home walking across the railroad tracks with his lunch pail. I remember never getting in trouble for annoying my older sisters. We were all daddies girls. Poor but loved. I never had a dad after him so hug your dad today!!!

I lost my precious Pops nearly five years ago . I knew that he was going to go and tried to prepare myself for the eventuality . How wrong was I! . It was such a massive shock when it happened and I have been crying multiple times a day . He was the most kind, loving and gentle human being to ever grace the planet . He had all the qualities a parent should have . They broke the mould when they made him and he guides me through put my kids I speak to him every day and find this comforting as I know he’s listening to me. I miss you so much Pops . No one couch ever fill your shoes . You were a fantastic husband and provider to my late mama who died many years before him . This song is dedicated to you . Pops . After my dear dad died, there weren’t any real good mechanics left in town. He was the best of all, I know that. He could fix any kind of engine since he was a perfectionist. He learned his craft when still young. Were he born under different circumstances, he could’ve been a mechanical engineer. A Ferrari type, for he was a TOP mechanic 👨‍🔧 Instead his talent got waisted for he was killed. RIP dad! ❤️❤️❤️❤️

July 10th. The man who gave me the best life he could passed away. I remember trying to help my dad, his ex was refusing to let him see his daughter, causing him to start drinking again. He went missing sometime through the day and the next he was found dead. I'll never forget waking up that morning, concerned for my father, then later to have my life destroyed by words no one should have to hear. Everyday I miss him and I wish was here to help me get through my final years of school. He deserved better, he deserved to be with his daughter, he never deserved the pain his ex brought him. Thank you dad, thank you for helping me when I needed you most and I hope your proud of the young man you helped raise, I promise I'll make you proud.
