Good to hear your feeling better and your wife Awesome that Nicks boots is doing that for you I remember the old nail down boots I used to wear lace up loggers like that when I was younger used to get them repaired trailed at a local shoe repair here in Troy Mo it’s a lost art I also wore hand made cowboy boots used to get them from a place called the Tack Shoppe in Clayton Mo they Weren’t cheap but felt like a million bucks on your feet just like the old loggers they were very comfortable as well worth the money and lasted longer because they fit and wore betterIve tried several different brands over the years none like the old boots though I too would love to have one of your axes hanging on my shop wall even though I can’t swing one anymore would be a great conversation piece for my shop I used to split all my firewood by hand but in wheelchair now still help I run log splitter with help of my grandsons trying to teach him how to split by hand he’s learning but not good enough yet to use my grandpas axe or even my dad’s axe they hang on Wall as well I actually split with a double bit axe with a bent handle I bought at an auction I don’t let anyone touch those three axes I bought a and 8 lb splitting mauls with fiberglass handles for those handle breaking beginners and a single bit axe with fiberglass handle as well I learned by doing on my own even felling trees I learned by hands on doing to feed my young family back then Started with aHomelite XL12 and grandpas axe back when I was 18 years old cutting and selling firewood because jobs were scarce Now teaching grandsons but they have SthL and Huskavana saws and all the safety equipment log jacks log splitter my safety equipment back then was a pair of gloves and my logger boots Non the less still love to go to the woods and spend time with the boys for sure or piddling in shop with sharpening saws and cleaning equipment little projects hard to get around in woods with my chair but I’ve been stuck a few times out there got a side by side with winch that’s rescued me a few times another thing I never had just my old pick up back then love my old Fords like you

Buckin you are an inspirational human being and I truly wish more of my generation (being 25) and younger would learn to appreciate the sort of knowledge a man like yourself has to offer. Seems like a lot of my generation is all about disposable this or that while the ones trying to keep the old saws/equipment alive are slowly dwindling. Through your channel alone I’ve learned so much and enjoy the knowledge you pass on while continuing to show love and appreciation for all of your older saws. I’ve had the pleasure of reviving 2 saws (very slowly as funds aren’t outstanding due to health reasons) that sat well over 10 years . A 1980s “Craftsman” aka poulon micro XXV) and a 1998 husky 55 Rancher that my late grandfather owned as his first brand new saw. Through your channel I learned how to ensure they’re in top running condition and that in itself is worth it’s weight in gold. The first time they barked off my Grandmother (who purchased both of these saws for my grandfather) had the biggest smile on her face and I will always cherish that moment. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and spreading kindness.

I restored one of those micro's or a variation of that. 30 years ago. Didn't keep it, it was passed back to my dad. Cute saw. I wasn't a buckin sub back then. If i was, it would have ran better. I now know the sharpening ways of this kind man.

You are a good man, and your story, and journey is special. Thank you. From your past with your struggles, to your sober ness , then the tree that almost took you out. A man that was down, and brought yourself to where you are. You can bet it’s your love giving and sharing that has made you a success. God Bless you, stay strong, your shoulder will be back. Your going to be 54, I’m going to be 50. I just want to say Thank you.

I bought some JK Boots based upon your recommendation when you did the boot review of the boots they sent you a couple of years ago. You explained how they CUSTOM built their boots to the customers specifications. Based upon my feet being very swollen due to lymphedema I had not been able to wear boots for over 25 years, and I had a job working in the outdoors! I spoke with Tim at JK Boots, explaining what I needed and filled out their "custom fit" sheet. JK Boots came through, and their boots brought me to tears, because I could once again wear REAL BOOTS! They were a game changer for me and I have never felt more comfortable in cutting trees and working on my farm without fear of slipping and falling. And it was because of YOU, Buckin' that this had even happened, and I THANK YOU for that recommendation. I only say this because I know that JK Boots did not work for you, because as you said, the soles were too wide and they just didn't "feel right" to you. And I can see the similarities between the boots you have worn in the past, and the Nick's Boots of today. So I can see why you switched. What works for some may not work for others. All I know is that JK Boots work for me and I could not be happier, and had it not been for you I would not have known this company existed. So again, THANK YOU!

I want to thank you. First and foremost. You're a great inspiration and now I may know where to get a pair of boots that actually work for me. Little did I know I've been making my own boots for a while I normally climb in wrestling shoes but that's okay I got a fifty-fifty shot of getting cut or knot. I normally wear steel-toed boots size 10 but they don't really fit my feet and know what you're talkin bigger is not always better I'll reach out to Nick and see if he can build a boot for my prosthetic leg. Something that can incapsulate the powered ankle and battery system.

I understand the deal with your cat , while we are not cat people ( to complicated to explain) we have it with our dog. Being lovers of animals ( they are family members) I think I was the first to reference the condition to my wife and it's very debilitating, ours is called canine paralysis when they are on your lap and won't let you move. You have it's cousin called feline paralysis and it's just as debilitating. Love them while you have them, much more to the story than can be said. Besides it's a really good excuse not to have to get up. Love ya Billy keep up the good work. hope someday to be able to meet you at a Buckin stock in Indiana Wish you could have met my first born Billy would have been a hoot.

good luck with the boots, that's definitely the way forward. I couldn't wear things with that flared stitched edge, like you say, you trip over on them, it's just not practical to be honest. have you considered exhaust gases from woodburning could be coming into your house making inhabitants ill? maybe to do with down pressure which you mentioned a week or so ago. worth considering due to the invisible nature of the noxious gases which are dangerous to health and can give flu like symptoms and general malaise.
@jirusjirus9322

I run 2 carbon monoxide detectors with natural gas open flame unvented heater and stove top, haven't had a peep. I've heard that sometimes wood burning can have a health effect if a house is totally buttoned up tight. Ya never know what type of mold could be growing in a dark corner somewhere or possible noxious fumes that are orderless and colorless. Curious if anyone running a wood burner has any devices that register fumes...? Viruses, funguses, bacteria, parasites, they are all so tiny that we can never be sure when and where they are. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. Garlic, ginger, ginseng and goldenseal are the 4 Gs... they are preventative and curative. Nature's drugless prescriptions. All the best of health to the Buckin Army of kindness. 💚

It looks like viberg doesn't offer the naildown anymore. By looking at the website. I knew i didn't like the stichdown for a reason. I've been clomping around in chunky cowboy style safety toe fat boys. Double stich (fake) wide box. I wish i could get a naildown safety toe. I trip on my feet all the time. You have to walk duck footed, wide stance. When JK made that first pair, i was laughing. To climb a tree in those? what. Super edgy grabby.
