Demone, you have to, have to, have to wake up and really take these words serious. You are so hyperfocused on this "project" that you loose vision for everything else. What you and your family, ESPECIALLY YOUR DAUGHTER, are going through, is not worth it. This is harsh, and a harsh reality to face, but dont ever forget that you decided to put life into this world, and you are responsible to give her the tools to have a good life. This starts with her mental wellbeing, the strain and trauma going through these things, or having parents go through these things puts onto children is IMMENSE. These things only show later, focus on getting yourself into shape, into a place of being able to even start to think about any project, you need financial stability, you need to get BACK ON YOUR FEET. Only then can you think about where you walk. The goal is not to get back into a position where you can keep going with the game, its to get back into a position where you can keep going with LIFE. Theres nothing more sad than someone clinging to ambitions and a "great" achievement, some dream of a life, without realizing that doing this they loose all the blessings they already had in their life. I wish you the best, and I hope you wake up. But I will end my subscription right now and here, I cannot keep watching you going down the same spiral over and over.

Honestly I think what's holding him back from doing this is other peoples wants/needs, like the staff hes hired and the backers, not wanting to disappoint them etc. If it was me in this situation and that first investor ghosted me after giving me a green light, I would have tried to find another within 30 days and if I couldn't I would have dropped the project. Refunded any backers and paid what ever I owed to the employees I hired. At the moment you are just paying debt with debt, the longer this goes the more money it will cost and the more you will owe and the more you will need to sacrifice to keep everyone else happy. You have to think, what happens when you have nothing else to give up to fund the project? The amount you owe now is substantially higher than if you'd dropped it early on. I am not a game dev, I'm not going to sit here and lecture people on the best way to make a game but I can sure as hell tell you that these people who use these free assets on these engines like Unreal Engine as placeholders do it for a reason. For the people who get upset about it, like... this isn't your family on the line, this isnt you and your child sleeping in a car out on the street or going from motel to motel, for what? A game that is so early on in its life its just an idea with some drawings? Its insane.
