Since when will normal mirrors eliminate side blind spots? Reduce but not eliminate. Which is a bit like eliminating 90% of the shrapnel from a hand grenade...the 10% you don't eliminate will still kill you... If you know a specific brand that will eliminate all side view blind spot just through the purchase of a conventional mirror that you stick on the existing (main side view) mirror, please tell me, thanks. I'll order it at once.

@@pen25 not illegal...took a test drive with one and entirety of blind spot was eliminated. Ugly ...yeah, maybe. Not as ugly as being t-boned.

If you're on a budget (or not) you can grab an extra mini side view mirror you can stick on your original side view mirror at your nearest auto parts store

@@jeshland the point is there was a time in every invention's infancy when it is nearly viable. solar panels of the 1980s pail in comparison to those of today. Meaning it is now worth it but in order to get to now we had to improve designs. No one is forcing you to buy it now but the funding that will be gathered by selling these will improve future technologies. What a concept!

I got mine because my car is old and has not Bluetooth. So besides charging my phone it works better when I get directions, sent messages over voice and make answers calls. The microphone listen much better than my phone most of the time. And connect to the speakers of the car.

You can't remove the mirror without breaking it, with the door closed. You have to be able to open the door to remove in one piece, to resale. And crimales know they can't sell broken merchandise.

There are cameras all over modern vehicles, and I've never heard of one being stolen. They've become nothing more than cheap sensors.

Oh how I wish this was so! Really I do. Just come to Florida, and you too will have your faith in our species survival, quickly ripped away, without so much as kiss on the cheek ever being offered as a form of condolence. It's not only here though really. There hasn't been one day that has passed within the last 20 years, where I don't question how our species were able to make it this far. If there be any evidence which points to other intelligent life forms existing outside of our planet, the very reason our species is still alive, proves that answer to be none other than, a resounding YES! When the time had finally arrived that a decision had to be made, that for the safety and well being of our kind ,(and possibly it's future existence), where we literally had to remind our species to not use hair dryers while taking a shower, did very little to instill any amount of confidence of our kind to make it to lunchtime, much less in the days and years to come. The front side-mounted cameras on the newest high-end BMW, Lexus, and Mercedes make pulling out of blind driveways safer than they ever could be before. Some of my neighbors have giant convex mirrors mounted on their gates because of the problem. This tech is WAY better than those mirrors ever were. Just yesterday, I was shopping on a busy boulevard, and an 18-wheeler parked- completely blocking my view. It would have been a nightmare without these cameras! BEST.

Wish I could find some for my Dodge Ram, obviously I prefer my mirrors but I have extremely dark tinted windows so when they are up and I'm driving at night.. very difficult to see.

If it's anything like the fender cameras we had when I was a truck driver, they were worthless when it rained and when a vehicle was behind you at night. Headlights routinely washed out the viewing area.
