How To Save The Lord Of The Rings: Rise To War!

With the release of the 2.0 update The Lord Of The Rings: Rise To War has seen massive pushback from the community, including mass refunds by the player base and talk of a class action lawsuit. So what exactly could be done to fix things, well in todays video we will go over just that.
We will take an in-depth look at the various features that were added in 2.0 and go over what we like about them, what we don't like about them as well as what the Rise To War Dev team can do, to fix and tweak things, so that the player base is happy while the dev team still have their new and "improved" 2.0 version of the game.

My biggest issue with formations is the stamina system and the fact that you cannot change the composition on the field.

Good call, those are definitely pretty big issues. Troop wise I doubt they will let you swop out one troop for another but I do hope they will at least let me pick how many I want in the army when reinforcing especially for pathing armies etc. Stamina in PBE was a global pool but everyone complained so they removed that and made it the way we have it now.

@@Tharshey I dont understand why so many complained, i liked it very much. This system doesnt work with the formation system. Also stamina replenish potions are useless, since you need 4 of them now.

@@MW111 Yep a global stamina pool is the only way to have it with formations.

Us f2p did not have many T3 above R3 , If we could revert them back to R1 or R0 would be great , now we almost got nothing.

I'm not f2p by any means, I've probably spent about $500 on the game so far over my time playing but I agree 100% with you. I have Galadriel at r8 and that's it. My Elrond and Thorin are like r0 or r1 only lol. So If me while having spent that much only has that, I can only imagine what fully f2p players have.

idk if u said or not about the fact that u are not able to change units if not in setttlement , thats one of the worse ones yet

Nope I didn't mention that, that is a good call though. I'm not sure if they will let us change troops outside of settlement since in 1.0 you could only change 2 out of 3 troop types as you always needed 1 troop type to be there. With 2.0 only having 1 troop type per a commander I'm not sure what will happen there.

Finally got to this great video :) You basically covered everything and even provided simple solutions most players would probably agree with. Hopefully the devs take some notes and adjust things a little. We would have loved half the things on this list if they were in 1.0 but now it feels more like they're mocking us 😂 like we don't care if the game is easier now , some us actually liked struggling against whales

Was waiting for your feedback haha, and thanks!😊 Yeah I’m hoping both the player base would be fine with the changes I suggested and then to just get the dev’s to take notice and actually implement them.😅 Honestly though, If they added in things like respect refunding, equipment recycling etc to 1.0 the players would have nothing but positive things to say about the Devs.

But fair point about the devs , even when chisgule and atme would bring stuff up it would still get mainly ignored. & for real tho you're so right we would've all been praising them instead 😅

@@demongoddessx3 Yeah well whatever the outcome so long as the friends I’ve made are still playing I’ll probably continue playing myself. If we lucky though who knows maybe something will happen and we’ll get some changes that we want. Busy day here as well, Real life sucks sometimes lol. To much to do and just not enough time in the day to do it all. Anyway have a good one!

It's respect 5 for t1 commander and then its paywall. You need a lot of t2 respects. And then r10 and that amount is unbelievable 😂

Ah thanks for clearing that up! Are you sure though about it being respect 5 for upgrading from rare to epic rarities? My Eowyn and Haldir were r18 and I think 15 respectively but dropped to like 8 and 5.

⁠@@TharsheyYes im positive about that. I literally went through one of my alts before this comment. I had only r5 ewony before update and no it ask me 10 Theo books and 45 herself respect items to transfer here to Epic. I think this transfer to lvl up could be more then one time from Epic to Legendary

To get Theo to legendary you need 150 of his items and 40 GTW items. And the t1 respect items go from 40 to 12 per item after becoming epic. And I believe the T2 is 30 per item when made legendary.

Hey Tharshey, Is 2.0 gear better than the old 1.0 pieces? I haven’t encountered fully strengthened and refined 2.0 gear so I haven’t been able to compare. I feel like the are some effects on 1.0 items that are superior to what the new gear pieces have to offer. Old equipment may scale better too. Any thoughts?

So far it seems like they have made 2.0 gear better so people will want to change and update their old gear. That being said a lot of people are saying to hold on to old gear with rare, powerful effects (which I unfortunately didn’t do). So things like focus or fire protection, Aegis (Anti-madness & stun) etc.

Issue with using 1.0 gear is the missing stats to the commander and to be honest that's a big difference when it comes to something like a small Stat difference. It kinda forces you to convert old gear. The best advice I've heard on this topic is if your accountt is very well off like most kraken or content creators are go for it but a normal player it wouldn't make a difference you'd be better off using as food

@@stephentyson530 I wish I was one of those well off content creator accounts🥲. Honestly though, that is the reason I ended up converting all of my gear. I still do wonder if maybe keeping one focus protection quilted would have been a good idea but otherwise I'm all invested on the new gear on my account.

@@Tharshey don't we all. Unfortunately the only way it'd be worth keeping is if your other gear can pick up the slack of the one old peace. It forces those who don't to convert but hey let's be honest if you meet the person who can make a old gear peace work the problem would be the commander not the gear

2.0 is a money grab version. If you don't understand something, try to think about the financial advantages the content creators have with those changes.

Umm as a CC myself I can say that many of the other CC's are not liking the changes either. In general the CC's all agree that 2.0 is a lot less f2p friendly and that a lot of the mechanics etc were badly implemented. I do get what you're saying though as now I can go back new videos on gear, troops, commander respect etc.

The formation system has ruined the game. So much more fun to send 2-4 commanders with different armies and skills and fight the opposing team. Now you literally have all 4 of your commanders sitting on 1 tile. It’s a joke.

The change to the equipment should be illegal and i believe it is. When you pay for a certain item and a company takes it away or changes what you paid for should be illegal and the guild im in is very good with alot of people who spent alot of money for certain equipment and they changed it. I honestly smell a class action lawsuit. They should of never of touched the equipment. Its a joke now.

If you’re referring to the equipment change in general I get you. But if you mean in terms of my suggestion for it, I want to clarify and say my suggestion is basically just the best idea I can come up with for damage mitigation, since the change to equipment has already happened.

Hi all, I've to Say i totally disagree for the item changes. Previously a geared sunnind / Gil galad (or other OP) with OP anti stun anti madness Gear would destroy so many stacks of New players. Impossible for New players and free to play to answer that. Now you ll see less thing like that. And a newcomer with a set will still cause damage and not being destroyed in one turn ! Of course players are sad cause they chased for those fucking gold elmet with the OP effect, but was it nice and fair to impose this mandatary chase for newcomer or low spender ? I dont think so. You also said that low rarity gear with good effect is nice for new and free to play players, so it is possible to stuff a formation, although it is true it is hard to improve fastly 4 commander. Your idea to gear only the commander is possible and nice but would make restrictions to team composition... What was truly needed to save Rise to War was a fresh air of changes !

What they have done is added a lot of changes and people aren't liking it. For gear there is no good solution really that will satisfy everyone since some people do like the new gear effect system while lots are obviously missing their old items they worked hard to get.

They have killed the game can't even take a 200 tile now and the respect stuff is useless if you only have 5 or 6 commanders

True for low spending/f2p players respect refunding is not such a big thing as they may not have many high respect commanders anyway. A way to allow the f2p players to also make some use of the system is if you could bring your commanders all the way back down to respect level 1 or even 0.

damage dealer comms are better there than unit buffing comms.
