Usually you see the great champion Magnus Carlsen as someone who is extremely confident and handles the clock extremely well. But in this game against the Chinese GM Ding Liren, Magnus thinks for more than 2 minutes for 1 move in a 5-minute game. Why does he do that? What is the reason? And in spite of all these problems was Magnus able to win? Find it out here as IM Sagar Shah breaks down this game. It happened at the Tata Steel Chess India tournament in Kolkata in 2019.

Generally when opponent is thinking for too long he may play move that is harder to respond so he said Ding responded immediately it also means ding is full of confidence and doesn't have to think twice.

Bruce Lee was a myth all about anger on the screen and much less Kung Fu than hundreds of kung fu movies made in HK and TW. He was overrated by non martial arts specialists.

The han chinese is making purposefully annoying jerky movements to disturb the concentration of Magnus @2:25 he spits on the side with loud air blow which is heard even over Sagar's voice. He is also timing sharp stares at Magnus when that will most disturb an opponent about 5 sec after his moves. He re-adjusts his chair abruptly at @3:55 and moves his arms over the board, this without a doubt will startle the opponent concentration. Another spitting blowing at 4:06 can be heard. The han chinese is obviously using dirty tactic off the board to disturb the opponent thought concentration, this is a 5 minute game so this disturbance matter. I've never seen any chess player at that level using these dirty tactics. At @4:16 the han chinese sneezes loudly or spits and you can see how magnus is immediately disturbed by it. Then he keeps on alternating being immobile and making sudden gesticulating on his chair. @5:24 the chinese is again staring directly at Magnus and shaking his whole body side to side to make it disturbing like a belly dancer. For once i disagree with Sagar, this rude chinese needs to be fined and disqualified.
