Every time I see a couple walking on the sidewalks, I remember when my father used to tell me that when I grew up, I should never walk with my partner on the outside of the sidewalk. "You must protect your partner at all times, especially when you walk with her in public, as the outside could represent a safety risk for her." I did the same with my children. But it's remarkable how times change.
