Timing is a sonavabitch in this movie. Just as it is in life, one simple event such as a racy letter and the imaginings of a selfish little girl can ruin lives. I would describe this film as unconsciously tragic.

It could be one of two things. She purposely took off her clothes as a tease or she took them off because she knew her undergarments would get wet and stick to her body so she needed something dry afterwards to cover herself up.
