We are a couple who are building our own home from the ground up in the mountains of West Virginia. After living near the city our entire lives we finally decided to sell it all, pack up our 3 kids and live in an RV on our 73 acres while we building our own off-grid house and learning to live a more self-reliant life.
Our house build is documented entirely on our main channel "Wild Wonderful Off-Grid". This channel is dedicated to short vlogs showing our life outside the build.

It pays to have a high voltage qualified electrician doing the installation. The inspector looked like he truly enjoyed seeing a good installation for once. Nice video of the joy of getting your hard work, a pass.

Glad that Josh decided that the lift was necessary. Erin is tough, however. That copper line is tight and heavy. The inspector was very pleased with the professionalism on the electric. Great job! Lookin forward to seeing more progress. Good luck!

The lift was absolutely required and I"m glad Josh made the call. It's not worth taking a chance and trying to power through something that sketchy and have either of you get hurt. Josh's electrical work is top notch and professional, the inspector was very impressed as well. Great job with the design and execution Erin and Josh. I also love all the murals on the exterior!! I've been an electrician since 1975. It is very enjoyable work, and I've always enjoyed the challenge of not only doing the work correctly and to the code, but making it look like artwork as well. I think we share that desire. Really neat installation, Josh.

Congratulations on this milestone achievement. You two are an incredible team. Josh, thanks for acknowledging that you needed a lift and help rather than straining your back and Erin’s while attempting to wire power service on the ladder. Your health is a priceless gift that must be cherished at all times. You might consider adding a framed cork backed map (with pins) and a visitor autograph book for KZfaq viewers and other visitors that come in to track home locations. Planning a side trip to visit on our next trip to DC or Baltimore. Wishing you and your family a blessed week filled with gentle seasonally appropriate weather and restful evenings together. Peace

Having worked in telecommunications for decades I am a major stickler for cable dress. Josh your lead dress with the electrical is impeccable. The inspector was duly impressed as he should be You are true and your work is the truth of excellence. Major respect to you. Erin is also pretty good.

Next time you have to slide anything on the floor get an old soft blanket and put a couple layers of the blanket under each foot and push. It should easily slide.

I worked for so cal power company 25+ years, many times contractor would call and tell us tgey were ready for inspection and they weren't...good job in this build.

It is great to see the progress as you head to the finish line. I'm guessing that the inspector doesn't see that level of quality work very often. Good Job guys. Those pears look delicious and are probably good for baking as well. I know, no time for baking right now. Thanks for taking us along.

I was so sad during the entire video as I expected the inspection to fail, and at the end, in less than 30 seconds : "Well done, Sir ! Good job !", I smiled like a kid who understands that it was a joke !! Josh's electrical work is such an beautiful art piece, all lines parallel, very "fen shui" ! Congratulations !!! That Electric Inspector has probably never had such an easy inspection and perfect beautiful wiring job in his life lol. He was very impressed I could tell.
