The referees managed to, for the first time in the entire history of sports, call a defensive foul AND an offensive foul for diving from one single situation.

In ice hockey in the NHL, diving/embellishment is often called together with a defensive foul. Often times, the defensive foul happened, but the fouled player dove to make it much more obvious. The referees would have called the defensive foul anyways, but because the fouled player dove, they are forced to call diving as well.

@@mateoglibo6091 So let's say I'm playing hockey, and I punch someone lightly. They then leap backwards as if they got shot. Clearly, my opponent is diving/embellishing to try to draw a call, but that doesn't mean that I'm just allowed to punch them either. Therefore, I get a 2 minute penalty for roughing, and they get a 2 minute penalty for diving/embellishment.

I am french but today I'm not really happy about my team : against Germany we have been much stronger than today. Croatia was impressive, even without Martinovic, but the refrees had some strange decisions, notably in the end and the beginning of the game. Mem isn't obviously the best player of the game, the croatian keeper was so good ! Hope Croatia will win enough games to go to the semi-finals, and maybe, against France in Final ! 🇨🇵🇨🇵🇨🇵

@@clio2rsminicup bah ouais c'est ça le problème... Pas possible d'être objectif par rapport aux matchs des bleus ! On a été bons, mais pas autant que je l'espérais, pourtant c'était le match le plus dur du groupe sur le papier... Je m'en branle des croates je sais même pas où c'est la Croatie, c'est juste que j'ai trouvé l'arbitrage très litigieux ! Et c'est pas la première fois durant cet euro d'ailleurs, malgré que nos matchs aient été plutôt épargnés jusque là. C'est surtout Dika Mem qui ne fait aucun effort élu homme du match qui me répugne, quand tu vois le match du gardien croate, ou même de Karabatic côté français... Tu récompenses Mem après un match plutôt mauvais de sa part, bah ensuite il va prendre la confiance et comme c'est un de nos joueurs les plus importants on va perdre !

Well. 2 times in the end phase, Luka Cindric gave away the ball playing 6 to 5 in Croatias favour. Within1 minute. That was decicive for the match.

Yes, absolutely. In my opinion Cindric is overrated, he can't play decently in the national team, eventhough is considered being a "world class player" at Barcelona. He concedes so many decisive errors and passes it's unbelievable. Today it was the same against Hungary. When he played, Croatia fell 3 goals behind, when Karacic came in, Croatia played at least on level. I don't know, i don't like Cindric.

Martinovic's absense is too much for our team. We are too small of a country to have the same level substitutions for every position and especially Martinovic. But those 2 minutes for Mem and Nacinovic at the same time is pure madness. How can somebody earn a faul for 2 minutes and flop at the same time is beyond my brain. That was too harsh for Nacinovic. I mean he may dramatized it a little to much, but same did the french players 30 times, especially that guy at the end who got a fake penalty, laying there on the floor for 2 minutes and he wasnt even touched by our player 🤣 Same for the first Nacinovic 2 minutes expulsion. He just kept his hands straight up in the air and the guy literally runned straight into him, and the contact was so soft because the contact happend with Nacinovic triceps which is soft meat but yet the french player laying on the floor and making faces like he got runned over by a train at least and again no flopping here 🤣 France wasnt good at all today, but with few croatian mistakes in crucial moments and more than a few refreees mistakes they got a win. Congrats lol

We had everything in our hands, the referees contributed to the defeat, but the main culprit is us. Misstakes in crucial moments, when we had to be at 110%. Tough match, uncertain until the end. IZNAD SVIH

They stole Croatia again, they gave us a passive attack after 10 seconds, and the French had a passive attack that lasted 1 minute and nobody got a shot, and towards the end of the game, a non-existent seven-pointer was awarded for the French l. If the refereeing is wrong, the match must be repeated

Heureux de la victoire des français mais les croates méritaient à minima le match nul. Ils ont un belle équipe mais n'ont pas bien gérés les moments cruciaux. Je comprends leur frustration après la décision assez incompréhensible des arbitres. Mais la France a tellement souvent été volée ces dernières années dans le sport qu'on ne va pas se plaindre pour une fois qu'on bénéficie d'une décision litigieuse.

I agree with the comment. I think it should have ended in a draw. The referees pulled significantly for France in the second half, not to mention the exclusion in the last 5 minutes. With that, they decided the winner. However, France is a great team and I think this generation will last a long time. The defeat is very painful for us Croats, once again we succumbed to our biggest sports rival, the giant of Western Europe. Congratulations and greetings from Croatia!

We call it a classic because once again Croatia was much better but referee made sure France wins it.That 2 min suspension at 27-26 after french player missed the shot is hilarious.Why did they even bother to fly out all the teams.Just give the trophy to France right away.

Let's put it this way: If Croatia didn't lose 6-7 balls due to technical errors, they would have won with +4-5 goals. It's insane to have 15 goalkeeper(s) saves vs. 7 and to lose a game. That speaks for itself. Handball in general, is tragically messed up where they always leave this small opportunity for refs to be creative. Having VAR, but not having VAR room which triggers VAR, but VAR is triggered by the ref itself haha. Basically, THE JUDGE, THE JURY, THE EXECUTIONER.

Im from Croatia but honestly we werent that good today. Our deffense was horrible. So many bad plays in attack. Ref was a bit on French side. But France won beacuse they were better. Also we are going to go through, we will beat Iceland, Hungary and Germany.

Sto reči, fakat su igrali na visokoj razini, cak su tehnički bili bolji ali opet taj francuski vratar i nesuđeni crnci, srbi u francuskoj rukometnoj repki i suci su nas konstantno držali kao na niti. Mislim tesko je gledati utakmicu kad igraš bolje a gubiš pod nečijom nepravednošču. Ali smo ih pošteno i oznojili.

I haven't watched handball for years because of referees. And tonight I remembered why. 2 minutes for simulation after being fouled for 2 minutes is Monthy Python worthy. 7m and penalty 3 minutes before the end was a travesty. French player was not even touched. Handball is most corrupted sport after boxing. I wish it gets cancelled.

They didnt show the racists insults in public and how they throw things to Fr Players. Croatian are racists and Germany let the culprits staying in the Stadium... Croatia gave the game to France. I'm French and even with chauvinism I can see that. France is really strong, just think about all the shots they made ! Conan or Nahi didnt score the 18th when 17/14 did help Croatia. In 2nd half bad start for Croatian and they let France scored 2 goals without GK ... And with that they stopped to play. They were nearly dead but bad French GK (I mean, no one is nearly as strong as Omeyer and their stats are quite poor last years) and weak defense helped Croatian to come back a 2 nd time. Some little mistakes at the end and suffering from being score leaded finished it. With such a scenario you can't say referees gave the win to France. Same you cannot say they deserve to win. Imho for France with such high number of shots they need to work on the impacts and score more and more. Referees made some mistakes but to be fair it goes for both teams (no video for elbow in face) (simply 2 minutes for another face contact) (offensive foul not call at one point in 2nd half) (and for Fr team, the kung fu goal shldnt have been allowed) 😂
