which is realistic , both him and Mabel are children , Mabel is more ''naive'' but both can be selfish that wont stop them from ditching their plan if it means helping the other. I strongly disagree, it literally shows emotional maturity. If your friend wants you to spend time with them and they happen to be friends with someone you're not particularly fond of. It's kind of petty to just neglect spending time with your friends just because you don't like someone they like.

@@Harlequeer I agree to an extent: If it’s special occasions such as birthday parties, events such as concerts, park resorts, traveling, etc, then both of the opposing parties should suck it up and call for a temporary truth if they really want to be there. It is also the responsibility of the friend they both share to keep them both in check by not tolerating any negative shots from either side in order to maintain balance-including exclusion if one of them doesn’t behave. Other than that-you should NEVER hangout with someone you don’t like because you’re disrespecting yourself and it’s a doorway for you to subconsciously begin your transformation into a doormat. Mabel then overhears Gabe saying he won't be interested if the show is bad She know has a time limit Even after promising Dipper she'll help him after it's all done, she changes plan to re-due the show because of the limit she has now Mabel was being selfish, though she did have reasoning she did promise him When Dipper needed her the most she didn't help, and she knows how big this is for him At the end things get resolved, and both forgive each other If you notice, in every episode Mabel is "selfish", Dipper is too, and both have reasoning For the majority of season 1, Dipper had very poor reasoning, Mabel had a good reasoning, but at the end both were selfish Same thing for season 2 but switched

He didn't even know it'd have anything to do with Bill, Bill wasn't even openly being a threat at that point and he had no idea about what Stan's been doing. He wanted to open the labtop to find the author out of his own curiosity, which is not a wrong thing to do, just not something that was NEEDED to be done for anyone's benefit at the time.

other episodes both are selfish but one has a better reason than the other this was an episode where dipper was the one with a poor reasoning on being selfish

Dipper "fell in love" (let's be real it's just his first crush) with one girl and was too afraid to say it to her, maybe partly because he knew deep down that she's too old for him. Like Stan said, "yeah..., 'chances'." While Mabel did have crushes multiple times, she took actions about her crushes, and these crushes are never at the same time. She tried to go out, it didn't work, and she moved on, which is a much healthier way to deal with relationships than what Dipper's been doing tbh. I'm not saying to excuse anything else she's done, or will do, but to say Dipper fell in love and Mabel didn't while it's just crushes for the both of them seems kinda unfair.

Wendy does not feel that way for Dipper and it’s clear in the show that Dipper has a one-sided, unrequited crush. When Dipper won Wendy the stuffed animal, she did not feel any different about him in terms of romance. Robby probably would’ve ended up dating her somehow. In episodes such as the episode where Mabel wins Waddle, dipper is selfish but not for the best reasons. Sure Mabel is a bit selfish in that episode, but originally she won Waddle and now she has to give him up so Dipper could attempt to stop Wendy from dating Robby? Wendy is not going anywhere, but Waddle was taken by Pacifica and maybe would’ve gotten eaten. People like to only hate on Mabel when in reality both of them are selfish for reasons, however in some episodes Mabel’s reasons are more justified than Dipper’s. I will agree though that Mabel seems to suffer no real consequences to her bad actions like Dipper does.

Dipper is prolly my fav character,but he is also by far the most selfish in the show at times.Mabel is really of selfish about Dipper, dipper is selfish about almost everything. Still top tier tho

Whereas off the top of my head Mabel only put Dipper before herself one time and I don't even count that since the show was making a point of it. If Mabel wasn't adorable literally no-one would like her
