I'm shocked that this is an unpopular opinion. I thought it would've been an agreed fact that this wonderful singer has among the worst what, enunciation? I'd like to think of myself as pretty fluent in English despite it being a foreign language, but for the life of me I can't catch most of her lyrics.

she has said that she recognises her problem with enunciation. not sure if shes said that she tries to work on it lol. but i guess with musicals its not her own work so she puts more effort into making sure it sounds good, whereas with her own music, she makes it herself and is very hands on with the process so she can do what she wants and wont be butchering someone else's work, like with musicals.

As a songwriter, I used to avoid listening to other people's lyrics so I wouldn't be overly-influenced., with occasional exceptions. But then I had to avoid many lyrics because they're just totally insipid. Anthony Keidis being a prime example.
