What drew me to King years ago, besides his cool signature look, is the backstory. King is based off of a real luchadore that is a priest that did wrestling to raise money for an orphanage. And King, much like his real counterpart, wrestles to make money for an orphanage.

I main King, and I am trying to take my King to professional level and this video provides many things that I didn't know about him. it was very helpful thanks a lot dude.

I don't even play King at all, but I watched it because I wanted to know a little more about him for matchup purposes. My favorite part of the vid was at 18:01 when you said, "This move is not safe anymore". I literally had to rewind that part at least twice because I kept letting King players get away with move so much that I don't even punish. I’ve been waiting for this to come out! Personally, as a King player, I wanted to test my own knowledge since this channel does a great job of summarizing Tekken characters. I’m proud to say I knew most of what was included already, but the few I didn’t are just that much better for mix-ups. Really great video altogether, my only gripe is those combos weren’t exactly optimized, they just gave the smallest output of damage available.

This tutorial is good and I like that you use the illustrations that are on the screen long enough for us to understand how to do these moves, that is what separates you from the rest as far as I can tell, can't wait to put your video to the test when I get home as I am at work now :'(

This is very helpful and I like this type of tutorial, thank you for this video. King's the first character I decided to use and learn when I finally had the heart to play Tekken for real. Made me drop Law for a bit, since I was able to utilize more of the techniques I had from 2D fighters using King. This proved as the logical choice for players who likes using characters with command grabs on other fighting games.

King has always been my main since Tekken 3. I just feel at home with him.Pretty much have all his main moves are second nature to me and they aren't too complicated to pull off and mix up with. The all do decent damage as well. His melee moves have gotten better with each Tekken release since 3 it seems.I have had fun playing with him on Tekken 7. Still learning his combos but always love doing this chain throws. I managed the death cradle only a few times when I played Tekken 3 but I give it to anyone that can do that during a online or tournament match. I usually stick to the reverse stretch chains to end in a giant swing or muscle buster. I also do the King's Bridge chain with no problem. I'm far from a expert with him but I will use your guide to be more smart about which moves I use. Thanks for this!

Oh my god, just the vid I need. I've been re-watching command list video on King. Now this vid appeared in my Recommendation. I've been meaning to be a King main for the longest of time and been practicing on Tekken 5, getting Tekken 7 this christmas on PC. I love King, he's my favorite character. He plays up close and personal with awesome throw animations. Hopefully being after being a King Main I can learn someone like Jin or Katarina.

Word of advice for the air throws. You can mix it up with D 1+2 to give you a chain follow up throw. D 2+4 (or 1+3) can lead to a giant swing 2, 1, 3, 4 or the easier 1+2, 1+2. I like to use one until someone figures out the breaks and switch to the other.

But that justice nipple is a very good move for poke too, its hv a very good plus frame for set up and counter bait And u need to put 1+2, 1 and 1+2, 3 This 2 move are very strong mix up at the wall Because 1+2, 3 hv very big plus frame, safe but hit high If u try to duck u will get wall splat by 1+2, 1 but punishable on block

Don't forget that King's 2,1 jab string is now +7 on hit. Even things like Ling trying to go into her AOP get beat by follow up quick mids after this move connects. It's good to keep her in check. The new string for season 3 is cool, but even that seems to have it's best use for me after the 2,1 jab string. After 2,1 I sometimes fish for a standing 4 counter hit into the new string for a little combo. The 2,1 string in season 3 is doing a lot of work for me, and I'm not very good.
