Have the Xperia 1 III, it's still going strong but the upgrades and things they did to improve it with the 1 V has me sold. So I have it pre-ordered and waiting for it to come next week :). I am so happy Sony still makes phones that are good for us current power users. Samsung really abandoned us with taking away the headphone jack and micro sd card slot.

@@thaticelandicguy well thankfully Sony and I think another company i forgot who has proven they can make them the same size even with the headphone jack and micro SD card. They just want to gouge more and force us to buy their expensive Bluetooth headphones and storage upgrades!! You had an awesome video showcasing the difference. I can't wait to get my 1 V in the mail :)

I'm currently using the Mark 1 and considering the Pixel 8 Pro. I might get the Mark 3 until the Mark 6 (or other) is released

Hi, I am using the 1mk4 model and when in manual mode at lower shutter speeds 64-200 ISO in low light scenes there are so many colored dots/burned pixels random on the picture. Can you check also this one for both? Thank you very much!

Honestly, i not seen big difference, especially considering that the new phone has a much more technologically advanced and larger sensor Well, this is Sony, nothing can be done ... "a lot of beautiful words and promises in promotional videos, but in reality, everything is recognizable"

The addition of video bokeh mode (and the general improvement of edge detection) is a massive upgrade for me. Even the front camera got a lot of love this time around.

Both are looking great but the mk4 has a white balance sensor and the mk5 doesn't....i think you can tell the difference with this in mind, the mk5 looks more like a phone and the mk4 looks more like a pro camera in that regard... maybe.

The comparison to me showed mostly the processing changed: more saturation, contract and slightly more sharpening. Is the grass really that bright green at 5:16? Not completely fan of some of that in all examples here, but the new picture effect should help to choose different preference. In low-light improvements are easier to see. Also it seems the stabilization looks bit better at 6:27.

It is a shame that so many of the 'issues' with the 1IV are software related and could be fixed with a software update to a phone that cost £1300 a year ago. Sony selling very expensive kit that they just do not support adequately.

Is there still a 2-3 second processing pause on point and snap photos? Can it take good photos in low to no light without a flash like Samsungs yet? I have the mark ii because mark iii and iv have overheating problems when shooting video. I still use my s9+ for low light shots because the xperia needs good lighting for good pictures.

You said userfriendly at the beginning or eas of use. Then i have 2 or 3 guestions: 1. Can make single shots with the physical shutter button while burst mode is on in the basic mode? With my xperia 5ii not possible. it always takes 2 shots this way and makes a new map on the phone, very annoying. 2. With seemless zoom on and making video with the frontfacing camera's can you switch to selfie camera while making a video? Small but fun thing for social media and eas of use. 3. is there an excemp button for gps in the battery saving modes? While you need the battery the most and when you are on holiday scrolling around a city i need google maps but whenever i put the screen off it also turns gps of and when i turn it on again it turnes gps on again, this in itself takes up more battery then just leaving the gps on. the rest of the battery saving settings are useful in this case

Had Xperia 1IV had problems with terrible overheating. Return it back and bought Xperia 1V again terrible overheating. I wan't to say I don't play games on phones just scrolling and a little youtube. 40-45 degrees celzius. Should I restore the phone to factory settings before first use?

No, it's cause by the SoC. Snapdragon 8gen1 have the overheating issue same as 888, get a 855/860/865/870/8 gen2.

Is it just mine V or is the flashlight in this phone really not that bright? Coming from iPhone XS I feel like it's no brighter than half of what iPhone could produce. Impressed by the cameras though so no way I'm switching back :)

I think it's common for Xperia. I have 1 IV, and it's same problem dim flashlight. Before I had just Xperia 5 (first generation) and flashlight was much brighter. After reading forums I found out that 1 IV model for japanese market had brighter flashlight, maybe for 1 V it's same case
