Home Free knows exactly how to get the most out of a song. This time was a case of "less is more" They don't put sounds where they don't belong! They give us passion, party, or peace in just the right amounts. I never leave a Home Free video feeling "Meh, it was ok." This is one of the songs that I come back to quite often because it makes me think about what's important. I love that you are truly a fan, and yes, Home Free wants no part of racism or bullying. They are so unapologetic about standing right up front with sensitive social issues and their patriotism. They try their best to achieve their quest in making the world a better place by choosing to be inclusive to all people. Unless it's someone that's up to no good and doesn't hate and discontent. We all love them for their spectacular music and the fact that they are just good, decent people. They make us laugh, cry, think, and just feel better about being alive. If anyone deserves to be loved by their fans it is them. They sure fill the empty places in my heart.

This is an outstanding cover. Shoutout too John Mayer for the lyrics, it's a really deeply and soul searching song. But HF made it go right through your deepest feelings in the spinelcord They slowed it down a nudge from the original, kept the beat simpel like a heartbeat and those five part harmonies are just like magic.

I had the absolute honor of being front row right in front of John Mayer whilst he sang In The Blood. He looked at me whilst singing and I had to hold in the tears. This song is so heartfelt and honest it hurts.

Beautiful song by John Mayer. So much deep meaning in this text. John Mayer is a master of lyricism. I think this version is even better than the original. The arrangement, vocals and exquisite harmonies of Home Free were spot on. When Tim kicks in with his fantastic voice, all sorts of little goose feet run over my body. And I really appreciate Adam's simple heartbeat rhythm, the recording is so beautiful. Great reaction al always!

I don't know if you noticed, but as well as doing body percussion, Adam is also singing.

Such a beautiful song. And as a Christian, it had a sub-text to the lyrics, that the answer is in the Blood of Christ. It tears me up every time I hear it, pulls on the heartstrings. I miss my mom, gone 6 years now, and I miss my dad, who passed way back in 1978 when I was 18.

I love how you always comment on how they always do their songs just standing there, whether it be in a building, on grass, or at some other landmark. For fans who know them from the sing off, there is a moment in one of the interview segments where they are discussing how they don’t dance or move. How they’re the group that will just stand or sing and sing. I think its either the second or third round/performance if you’re interested in checking it out to see some background to their…standing. It’s also fun to hear/see how much they’ve grown.

I love Home Free's version of this beautiful song. They really brought out the emotion of it. Tim's lead is amazing with his deep bass. Also love Rob & Chance's solos plus the great harmonies. And Adam is tasteful in making the simple sound of pounding his chest & thigh. I believe we can change our course in life. We don't have to make the same mistakes as our parents. We can choose to rise above it.

This is better than the original version. Tim and Chance have voices that strengthen the meaningful verses and of course Rob is perfectly suited for the chorus with both Austin and Adam harmonizing with him. Tim was raised right and calls out the wrongs that he sees in this world. I also saw Tim's tweet and reported that vileness. That account was shut down soon after Tim's call to his followers.

It’s one of my favorites of theirs. It’s a cover of a John Mayer song. I love the lyrics too but I like HF’s version better than Mayer’s. Yes, their harmonies are so dang good. Thankfully, I had good family so I didn’t struggle with this but I know people who do have broken families and it’s often in the blood. Takes super hard work to not repeat the mistakes of family but it can be done. It’s often repeated throughout the kids and their kids and so on. I agree with you SR, Home Free gives me chills. I love this. I'm a Home fry from the Netherlands. Have you listen to Home Free Born in the USA? Chance has the lead there and plays guitar. Something completely different than what you're used to.

I have this thing I do before I listen to a cover, especially if home free are doing it and I haven't heard the original. I'll go and watch/ listen to the original first. I did that with their cover of castle on the hill and mayday. Their cover is always going to be as good as the original at the very least, but is often better than the original.
