Cause they not allowed to hold the ropes. They have to make sure the ropes don’t interfere with any of their limbs either when on the ground

See the thing is the ropes were designed for 🥊🥊 If you remember initially they used an octagon that had a webbing type of wall. This boxing rings serve two purposes. But they suck for mma

Yeah this was early in Masvidal's career when he was kind of mediocre. You can see the potential though, especially with his striking. The other guy sucked.
