As a parent of 6, grandparent of 9, the best thing watching your videos is the love you show for each other and the little ones, and the way you both let your little boys be little boys, don't change a thing and just continue to love life, remember family comes first and your babies are only babies for a short time, travel safe

We also had 4 kids and did our outback touring in the 1980's and 1990's in a 47 series Troopcarrier towing a trailer with heaps of jerry cans, food and everything else. Had our own little dramas mixed in with some awesome experiences that our now 40+ year old kids remember like it was yesterday. We just admire 100% what you do. You push the limits and when the sh.......t hits the fan you take it on the chin and get on with life. Full respect and thankyou for what you do.

DONT let youtube take over your life. people watch you because they enjoy watching you, not because you post a vid every 5 minutes.

FYI the eyelet bolts on the bullbar aren’t rated for towing, they are designed to allow the bullbar to be tilted forward. The atw bars don’t have any rated tow points. And you have likely damaged the transmission as well if you didn’t pull the tail shaft or diff centres, the Isuzu AMT’s Oil pump runs off the input shaft so towing it without the motor on means no lubrication.

Bugger! All vehicle manufacturers dump your warranty when anything is altered or modified, they like to keep things in their engineered safety zones as per manufacturing standards. Even exhaust systems void your warranty, I found that out with my 79 series. I’m travelling in an NPS 300 atm and have deliberately avoided modifying anything apart from suspension because of the stresses of offroading and load capacity.

My last employer. was one of the largest Heavy vehicle manufacturers. I was a warranty administrator. They justify there decisions on it was not designed to do that. When you make any changes. This is a very unfair position for manufacturers to take. And in most cases just a money saving decision
@OnlyGoodDaysCo

They have to prove the modifications caused whatever the failure was. Consumer law protects people from these blanket “no warranty”

@@chrisstokes5113 when I owned my 79 series I had the exhaust changed to a 3 inch twin system by a reputable installer, A very good friend of mine who is the service manager of a large Toyota dealer advised me that any warranty was void once I had that work done, regardless of what warranty issue it was….friggin criminal, thankfully being a Toyota nothing ever came up in the 9 years I had it. You are 100% correct when you say it’s a money saving exercise by manufacturers, although I have to say some of the mods ( tune ups etc etc ) do add extra stresses to engine parts. If you want to play then you might have to pay.

That suspension on the caravan is a game changer! I'm sure they even have body leveling suspension that can do the same thing. As for your engine troubles that's a painfully expensive pill to swallow. As for Isuzu voiding the warranty because you tuned the engine is just wrong of them. There's tuning companies out there that take up the difference where car manufacturers cut you off.

Having designed and built my own air suspension systems for a few different off road vehicles I guess they are using a standard automotive air suspension valve block on the caravan. The problem with those valve blocks is that they can't simultaneously raise one side and lower the other. When you want to roll the van it has to lift one side a bit then drop the other a bit, resulting in that pulsing effect. You can increase how much it moves on each pulse but it gets more and more difficult to maintain control over the ride height. The problem is that the air bags interact with each other. Raising one side also raises the other a bit and vice versa. When you start making big moves that interaction becomes very hard to control. The only real solution is a custom valve block that has fully independent control over each bag. I have been working on a design for such a block but it's on the back burner at the moment while I build my latest truck.

I have worked on and currently manage a large fleet of trucks. I also worked for stealerships. "Tuning" often can and does go wrong, i v seen $10k to $60k engines damaged purely because of a remapped tune. Some engines are sold from O.E that have different power tunes without the need for different components. Some engines are already tuned to their max safety operating performance and great caution needs to be taken because the only guarantee you will get is the tuner and manufacture will blame the other. As for Isuzu and some of their stealerships I wouldn't trust or let them work on my push bike.

Never a happy day when something so significant happens to your vehicle. I'm not surprised at all that Isuzu didn't investigate further and they're quite quick to pass the buck and take zero responsibility even if your vehicle has no mods. Isuzu is well documented as being one of the worst in Australia as far as after sales service goes. But as with all manufacturers, if it's remapped, no manufacturer will stand by its warranty . Warranty only covers the standard vehicle, not an enhanced vehicle. As with a previous comment, do an SOS when doing an oil change. That alone could save you thousands in repairs if early detection of metal is found in the oil sample. Maintenance is the key to vehicle longevity.

P.S. If you run out of dirt roads in Australia, we still have plenty in New Zealand.

Yeah, another good episode. When one of the boy's said "yeah baby", it made me laugh. So you were in Ballarat, my home town, so close yet so far. you didn't even stop in for a coffee. Oh well. I love the van so far. Cheers guy's.

Life on the road will always throw curve balls at you, mechanical stuff will always be quietly conspiring to let you down no matter how much you look after it, but after seeing the way you guys handle it all I'm confident that NOTHING will stop you guys for long. Your attitudes, your hilarious kids & your obvious energy will get you through the rough stuff. Stick together, tightly as a family & you've got this, that & whatever else the road throws at you covered. Full power to you guys. I'm now happily subscribed & looking forward to you ongoing adventures. Cheers, Mick from Vic.
