As a tribute to Jim Lange, here's an episode of one of the game shows he hosted: The $1,000,000 Chance of a Lifetime!
In this 1986 episode, Connie and Steve Rutenbar have already won two matches and are playing against Dena and David DeMaria for their shot at $1,000,000!

I used to watched this since I was a kid when I saw the two couples had won a million dollars and had that WWE style indoor fireworks and gold confetti. I jumped out after seeing it on TV. What a great show, but I hope if Warner Bros. had the rights to this and the rest of the Lorimar/Telepictures catalog, it will end up in the future maybe GSN or maybe so. RIP :(

If game shows like this still exist on the air today, that would be splendid.

Connie was on an episode of Pyramid before this. It used to be on GST Archives, but Michael Tiller ended up removing it due to the way Sony is. It's a good thing I downloaded it while it was up.

What was cause of Steve Rutenbar passing back late November 2021? He and Connie were on television game shows Family Feud back 1979 winning $10,000 dollars. Then 7 years later January 21st 1986. They were 1st couple that became millionaire's One Million Dollar Chance of A Lifetime with Jim Lange.

Did he get all the money, since it was paid over many years. In fact, it was 20 years and since the show was only one season, how were they able to still get it? And I thought he didn't live long enough to get it at first but see he did.

It turns out the money was paid in installments over 20 years. Of course, since the show only was one year, I wonder if they still got all the money.

R.I.P. Jim Lange. Trying to make this as spoiler-free as possible, according to The Encyclopedia of TV Game Shows, there were nine couples who won the grand prize. Six episodes featuring a grand prize win circulate among collectors. Hopefully, the other three will resurface. UPDATE: Actually, there are eight of them that circulate among collectors. Fellow fan Brian Schwartz remembers watching Connie and Bil Britain go for the grand prize, but he didn't have the VCR running.

@@ScottNapolitan No I believe Cathi and Martin Aguilera won with Cucumber. That one had to be from Spring 1986. I’ve been wanting to see that, myself. Kim and George won with Toll House, that’s for sure
@ScottNapolitan
@ScottNapolitan Жыл бұрын
@@alexbarnes4900 Actually, I did know that. That Kim and George Britton won with Toll House, I mean. I'm sorry for the misunderstanding, in response to your comment, the one that has your user name in front of it, I meant Cathi and Martin by "they." In my comment about Kim & George Britton, I was actually responding to Vahan Nisanian's comment, unless Connie and Bil Britain are grand prize winners from a different game show. I could have sworn I clicked "Reply" underneath his comment, maybe I clicked it under the wrong one, but even if the user name of the person you're responding to doesn't show before you're response, at the very least your response should be right underneath the comment to which you are responding, just to save misunderstandings. I don't get it sometimes. So anyway, I actually meant, "Are Cathi and Martin the ones who won with the item, 'Cucumber?', and when I said, "I think you might mean Kim & George Britton," I was actually responding to Vahan Nisanian's comment about Connie and Bil Britain, unless he was talking about a different game show. Again, I'm sorry for all the confusion.
