It really is more viable to play zed like a caster control mage when most games players are going to death ball and there is more hard cc in the game than ever before.

I don’t watch much of league KZfaqr contents, but donghuap and Zed99 are the rare ones that can reel me in.

I find Zed to be very versatile , it's still viable to go for full lethality oneshoot build, can be played as a control "mage" vs beefier comps with W max and Conq you can do crazy stuff alternatively I tend to opt for split push only especially in lower Elo with Demolish + Hullbreaker ,can't tell you how many games I've carried alone just by splitpushing. I don't know of any other assassin in the game that can go for oneshoots, teamfight against beefy enemies and splitpush as effectivly as Zed can.

Honestly, this is a smart play. The main objective is to get turrets, and you don't have to kill the enemy to push. Even just getting the enemy low enough for them to recall and lose a wave and for you to push is amazing, so why risk dying when you can deal damage without getting hits? Even if you don't execute anyone, it's already a really good trade. And when you use this in a team fight, you always have your team mates who can clean up for you. And if they do fail, the enemy would most likely have low HP, while you have a full HP. More than enough to go in for a clean up.

I never thought about it, but after watching this and a lot of Zed99, I realize I picked up on doing the same. I'm not good, to be clear, I just okay Zed in Aram. But since I stopped trying to dive off cd, and go for good positions with ult or to dodge, I get way more Quads and Pentas. It's crazy to think about

ehm.... he is not the only challenger in kr. onzed also hits kr chall pretty much every season. hydra is not bought only for sustain, but also for the increase in damage with the overlaps. it is kinda what enables the magestyle gameplay. however, before the hydra rework, people were also already challenger with zed, back then also with clever and armor pen build to be able to kill tanks (this was before the durability update). besides that, most of the stuff in the video is right. see yaaaaa

It's interesting because his build is very similar, if not the same, to ARAM builds afaik (I primarily play ARAM now). You're always brawling with the other team, dealing AOE dmg through Ravenous Hydra and shadows. With how much dmg you can possibly do with it and smart placement of your shadows, you can wreck enemy teams as you see with this pro player. With Zed, deception and misdirection are his best friends. There are many reasons why so many people despise - and ban - him and one is being how omnidirectional he is. He is as deadly as you make him.

would love to see a breakdown on why wukong barely gets any love, even when he's seen in pro play now more than ever. I want wukong to get a major update like warwick. Yasuo about to get a 2nd prestige, and Wukong has no legendary, ultimate, prestige or mythic skins. Darn near the best chance to get a new skin is if T1 wins worlds and Oner chooses wukong for his champ. Wukong pretty much doesn't have lore that reflects his kit, ironically. If they made him a bit like SMITE wukong.... sheesh.

This advice is only useful to Zed's who are mechanically gifted enough to play like him. His playstyle of burning ult for mobility and relying on excellent shadow placement and precision knowledge of the limitations and expiry duration of each shadow is what enables his control mage playstyle. The vast majority of Zed players fundamentally cannot copy his playstyle because they need their ult to kill the carry or do auto attacks at melee range to finish their target off. I highly advise the majority of potentially inspired players to take this video with a massive grain of salt.

Onzed has a similar playstyle and also been able to get challenger, but zed99 by far has been the most consistent zed player to maintain challenger and high kda with low deaths.

Zed R hasn't been used for execution ever since Riot kneecapped Zed's R and removed the dmg amp, that's why Zed mains with reading disabilities are still playing it the old way and struggling. Zed in high elo all play like Han.
