Repairing and upgrading is such a HUGE part of the RC hobby. Depending what you do with them. I like to think i can air it out and land like Kev, but I'm only a mere mortal, so I spend a good 80-90% of my RC time repairing. But i like that.

the v4 transmitter is great if you want to lawn dart and generally crash for no reason. I do agree a decent servo and transmitter really let these cars shine!

Spot on Bro! I took your advise and put in your servo and a RadioLink RC6GS. I expected a subtle improvement ... no it's like a night and day difference! Besides radio response, and servo speed, I also get more steering throw. As a beginner it's actually too responsive now, but with the RC6GS I can detune it until my skills improve. Thanks for the video that opened my eyes!

Thank you for the video Kevin. I just picked up an Arrma Kraton 6s and immediately ordered 2 of the servos you linked, as well as the FlySky radio in the video. The servos showed up today but the radio is going to take a bit coming overseas. Dying to drive this thing but just waiting for everything to get here.

Kev is 100% correct. I thought I’d lost my touch with my new arrma Granite. I’ve now done this upgrade with the eco boost servo and the Dumbork radio, really sorted the truck out. Thanks Kev.

Glad I bought Arrma when it was Arrma. V2 orange 6s ripper! One of my all time faves,I did still have to do a servo upgrade. Keep on bashin boys. I understand where your "cheap" is coming from.

New to the hobby and I Brought myself a Arrma Typhon Mega and my son a FTX Colt - Mine came with the Spektrum and his with a FlySky. The FlySky feels so much better in something a third of the price!!! I've not even bothered to run my car yet and brought a SpektrumDX5C Radio and receiver. Unfortunately before I had seen your review....

I have a Savox servo on a 4x4 slash that has taken a beating for 2 years. Probably 100 bashing runs and endured epic damage around it including a total replacement of the chassis. It still keeps ticking.

So good to know my arma infraction remote works so it must be some other model arma vehicals I only have a couple right now !! I know the range problem you spoke of and I got a futaba the spectrum dx5 sucked on range and so did my traxxas remotes maybe I can try the cheaper ones you spoke of for range would be nice on speed runs thanks alot

You're right cheap can mean many things but usually it's what something costs compared to more expensive ones.

Exactly, also it is bang for your buck. For example the WLtoys k989 is very comparable to the mini-z, and it is 1/3 of the price.

The absima crp3 or whatever it's called is a great controller for my partners outcast not had any issues and has a abs function which is also a great feature

Good video. I'm glad you are playing with your arrma's more. My arrma is almost ready to go back out again. She needed some TLC. But my slash is broken again... suprise surprise. It's ok, I love the slash regardless. Oh yeah, still waiting on some jet engine carnage or something like that.

I just traded a custom crawler for a Notorious 6s exb and YEP! My ZDracing dbx10 controller (3 channel Dunbo rc) is 1000% better! I went from "this truck is trash!" To "holy shit this truck is ruthless!" In ten minutes 🤣🤣 Totally agreed on the servo too! The metal servo mount is a must as well - especially if you're upping the power of the servo. 2 CHEAP upgrades and it's a beast. I haven't bent the chassis yet so fingers crossed!!! Kev! I'D LOVE to see your thoughts/review on the v5 notorious. Seems like all the problems you had have been fixed (minus the servo mount lol) the chassis is stronger, comes stock with the chassis stiffener like the "custom" one you put on, thicker shock towers blah blah 🤷‍♂️

Well, first outing with my new Granite 3s, flipped it, rolled it, jumped it and it was a blast! It´s like day and night compared to the typhon mega... However, the transmitter that goes along it, bin it, unsure if the reciever goes with it! The delay is out of this world for pete sake! It was kinda forgiving on the typhon, but going at these speeds you will want instant reaction to whatever you are doing.. Waited over a month on that damn Dumborc and reciever. But i felt those fangs growing larger and larger =)

I have done the exact same thing in my Granite. After putting in new gyro receiver, the Flysky GT5 and the JX Ecoboost servo it was night and day. I have since also changed out to a more powerful motor and ESC and now run 4s however as you said the biggest difference was radio and servo. Because of you I went with the same servo and I am grateful. THanks Kev

Kev, I was a traxxas fan boy, got a notorious 6s.............now I’m a arrma fanboy. I do have a XMAXX 8S. That remote sucks, I took your advise and installed a dumbo rc radio. It’s like a erevo on on steroids!

With this quarantine crap, i pulled out my old nitro rc collection. Found my old pcm remote did not handle storage very well. Went down to the local hobby shop, they sold me that spektrum stx2 remote. The lag was obvious. Me thinking this was how the new remotes are until it started getting real bad. Googled the remote to see if i was doing something wrong, nope. The hobby shop sold me a turd. Got a new remote, muuuch better! I'll figure out something to do with that old remote... lol

Hi Kevin, Are you running the original receiver SRX200 on the Kraton 6s when you upgrade to the AGF A80, or the one that follows the DumboRC X6? Do you recommend programming the receiver in order to get 7.4v? Cheers from Norway

I got myself an Arrma Granite just over a month ago and the stock servo just died on me today while just driving it around in my garden. It’s really strange because I didn’t crash it or owt. It just stopped working. Gears are fine, seems like the motor just died randomly. Ordered myself the one you suggested Kev. No way I’m gonna buy a stock one if they just die on their own.

It still surprises me when a company like Arrma puts sun-standard parts in its cars - ESPECIALLY for things that are a. so obviously poorer-performing b. Not very expensive to improve. c. Integral to the enjoyment and performance of the product. There are far more places for them to cut corners without it having such a major impact on the usability. It went from almost undriveable to great just by swapping out the servo.

I had to change the motor speed control radio system and now I'm looking for some decent aftermarket shocks. The factory ones leak. Replaced them and the new ones leak. Any ideas??

Hi Kevin. I just bought a Kraton EXB and can't decide on a servo. Would the JX Ecoboost CLS6336hv be a good choice? In this video you recommend the Ecoboost CLS6322hv. What is the difference? 36 kg vs. 22 kg?

I got Arrma also a kind of new to RC I have had a redcat Traxxas stampede but the Arrmaincredibly more rugged and the power is in Spain compared to those two that I had previous so I can imagine when I get to 6s 8s thanks for listening to me rambling on board quarantine blah blah blah

I'm new and have the arrma 550 mega. I upgraded to brushless .just a cheap brushless kit. What can i do to get the best out if it. And also since I done it there is a littke clicking sound now. Do I just adjust the slip clutch on the drive shaft.

Not sure about where you are in your country but some of us where I am in the USA don't use fly scare radios because for some reason there's no warranty and when the hobby shop sells a bad one the hobby shops out of money. Do you have that issue over where you are unless you do get warranty?

190 is a bit steep, like some one like me who has as many cars as you and could use money on other upgrades. Really cool radio though!
