Very cool list of boss fights highlighted here. I don’t have any experience with these, so not much else I can chime in on sadly lol! I will say, the Mandara boss fight in Shinobi looks like a fun challenge, and the boss in Fantasy Zone looks impressive visually for the SMS. Great video as always man!

Mandara gave a lot of people nightmares back in the day. I hate being pushed against the wall like that, so you have to fight back quickly. Fantasy Zone as a series, and Wonder Boy III as a game both have incredible boss fights that feel very different and unique. It's always refreshing to see different bosses instead of coming up against the same one every level. Thanks for watching buddy!

Never forget Gain Ground's final boss. In Master System version, there's no way to avoid his missiles. The only solution is to arrive in the fight with as many warriors as you can and use them in a series of kamikaze attacks till the boss is defeated.

Hell yeah 😄 being from the uk the master system was very popular here and was the first system i ever played in 96 at my cousin's place when i saw i could control Micky mouse and sonic on the screen as a 4 year old i was hooked haha

Ooh, excellent topic! I do love a boss fight! I loved Double Dragon's twist ending! I played it on the NES, but it blew my little mind when my cousin and I finally beat it! I've played the Castle of Illusion remaster, but I've never beaten it. I need to try to get to the end 😀 The Wonderboy Mechadragon is awesome looking. Always cool when the first boss is great, as it shows the game is swinging for the fences! The sunset in My Hero is a great demonstration of what a talented artist can do even with a limited palette! It's fun to see glimmers of these boss fights in Cup Head (as it was clearly influenced by TONS of old school bosses) Great list, dude!

Boss fights are so much fun, I love what a challenge they are. Double Dragon's twist is awesome! Ohhh so who won... you or your cousin?! Castle of Illusion is such a solid game all-together... I didn't know there was a remaster!! You could pick any boss in Wonder Boy III and it could be on this list, each of them are crafted with great detail and they are all so unique. My Hero.... HATE THE GAME, LOVE THE BOSS FIGHT. It's just a beautiful setting and it's cool to see what the artists could do back then. Thanks for watching buddy!

I'll probably put the final boss from the original Sonic the Hedgehog. The last Zone had you enter the skybase, which had lightning streaking through the air periodically. Then you climb onto the blimp, dodge cannons and turrets and trying not to fall off. Then you finally corner the demented scientist. The fight requires quite a bit of patience so you can attack at the right time.

Great vid there bud 😁 i alwaya get the shivers when i see the mandara 😂 i love and hate that thing. Never expected to see my hero in there, prob because i never get to the boss much 😂 awesome seeing wonderboy, totally agree on the dragon as the pick..... and r-type.... even though the first boss is one of the most iconic bosses that third boss still wows me even now 😁

Wonder Boy III might be my favorite game of all-time on the SMS, and you could pick any boss from that and R-Type as they are all filled with such iconic and wonderful fights. Shinobi was the game that made me like video games. Mandara was the boss that made me give up the game, I rarely got past her.

I have beaten Castle of Illusion for the MD, so I can't whait to do it also for the MS. Master of Darkness may be my MS favorite game, but still haven't beat it. My Hero is a boss fight since the first second of the game. It has no mercy on you!

What a treat you are in for! It's great to see the differences in versions compared with 8-bit systems and 16-bit systems. Master of Darkness is very good, and I love the cover art for it. It's a very tough game though! My Hero is so difficult, but that boss fight is gorgeous. Thanks for watching!

I agree. The final boss Vampier Dragon, while way more brutal, can be sidestepped with various tricks (like the Hades Armor glitch, or fighting it with Lion-Man via 99 Charmstones or the Tasmanian Sword). Of course I typically grind for the Crystal Armor, don't forget the Muramasa Blade, and pretty much kick Daimyo's ass xD

I bet the first time two friends beat the boss in _Double Dragon_ and then had to turn on each was a huge shock! In fact, there’s a few modern games that bring that twist…because I can’t mention them, or that’d ruin the fun! 😅 Hope you’ve been good, TC! I recognize some of those YT names that you’ve mentioned in the beginning. In fact, I think I’ve even said some horribly _gerfy_ things about them. 😅

What a cool ending that must have been between friends. I know the game you are talking about for modern audiences... my wife and I played it together and it was a shock but I had no issues plugging her full of lead. I'm doing alright buddy, been a real tough few weeks but I'm trying to bounce back. Yes, Oli you absolutely destroyed in your roast and I was LOLing the entire time. He's a great guy and I've enjoyed talking to him about the SMS.

Some of these seem pretty hard like the face on the pole one! The mickey mouse game with the witch reminds me of a boss fight in super Mario world 2 on the Gameboy where you fight an eagle! Nice video

For the one on the pole you need to enter the fight with the "fire ball gun" it only lasts 10 seconds and those seconds dwindle as you leave the shop and find the warp to take you to the boss. You basically have one chance to time your shot. If you hit him right, it destroys him. Fantasy Zone 1 and 2 are so good on the Master System!

Ninja gaiden has a funny one you fight a mafia boss but he only fight you through his underlings meaning he stand around and takes hits doing jack shit while his underling try to kill you. Golvellius has some cool fights the final one being the coolest. Ys is a cool game and the Dark Fukt fight is pretty good. Zillion has only one boss fight so can'T say it counts. Psycho Fox has great boss fights
