As a more recent fan, Fedor’s recent win over Tim Johnson really made me understand what he’s about. Eery, calm, and then a fast and deadly finish over a current top contender. Scary stuff, even coming off of losses and at his age he still has that in him.

Shane Carwin was the scariest man around at some point.. Him demolishing Frank Mir face with GnP was brutal. But for me JDS in his prime was the scariest man that ever step in the octogon

UFC heavyweights were like fire. Pride heavyweights were ice. Cold, merciless, unrelenting and impossible to endure for an extended period of time.

So glad vovchanchyn gets some press. He was one of my favorites. The first guy I saw that could punch a man's lips off his face while moving backwards. Him and Zinoviev were early "Anti wrestler" fighters. (No disrespect to wrestlers-i was one for 30 years. Even had Dangerous Dave Beneteau train with us for his UFC camps back in the stone age)

In my opinion a prime Cain Velasquez is the scariest heavyweight ever.

Cro Cop on 2 is very understandable, dude could give you life altering damage in a second. Dtill the strongest single move in the history of MMA. I forgot about Ngannou when watching the video, but was super sure Wanderlei Silva was first. I think he would have very well deserved the first place here, he even had the nickname "Axe murderer". How can it get scarier than that?

Cro Cop I think doesn't get enough credit for how he kept it on the feet, and his ability to condition his opponents to line up that sniper shot of a headkick. I'm of the opinion he wasn't an absolute beefcastle like a lot of the guys in HW at the time, but he had that wirey functional strength and fought smarter not harder. Like he'd transition to modern fighting really well I think with his composure and mind for fighting.

I wish Stipe could've been around in the steroid era..he may have had chance in that rematch with Mr.Obliteration.
