I've seen many people questioning about 5th step, I'll work on a brief explanation soon. Edit: Recently my 10 Steps Iceborne video has been blocked worldwide due to one of it's songs has been copyrighted. I had to mute that song in order to unlock it again, I'm truly sorry because that part of the video was special for me and now it doesn't have music for you to enjoy.

@@pututsoul7681 PC user here, While i haven't given this a serious try so i don't know how strict the timing is, maybe it could be because of the input lag on console compared to pc? You might have to start charging two or three frames sooner to compensate. That's only a guess, though.

@@andrewulrich5570 The most basic weapons in the game actually require the most intimate monster knowledge, IMO. GS obv as shown in this video. HBG/LBG where knowing monster patterns mean no wasted ammo, and efficient dodging in between shots. Hardcore LBG mains are also pretty big brain since they plant trip mines in unusual positions like how GS users do predictive TCS. SnS requires some of the fastest reactions because of backhop, instant flash, and deploying traps to have 100% disable uptime or prevent a chase sequence (thank you radial menu!). All of these also require some form of keeping track of the KO stacks, possible trip timing, and knowing when a monster might escape before it speeds away.

I think a crucial movement is the R2+Triangle right after the Tackle,it is one of the most agile movements , you can slinger shot and also roll right after it For me this movement is a life saver This guy “Im a Giraffe” showed me how agile a GS can be , in his video “Advanced Iceborne Greatsword Guide”

I still see a lot of questions about step 5. It's difficult to perform but it's a [frame perfect?] trick where, after the end of the tackle, your character has an animation to bring the GS back to the neutral position. In the middle of this tackle->neutral animation is where you want to input an attack and a direction. Given that it's such tight timing, I'm guessing that it's not an intended mechanic. Glad to answer specific questions if anyone wants to ask

its a bug, basically it does nothing. as you know, tackle will save ur charge level(try partially charge -> tackle -> wide slash, and fully charge -> tackle -> wide slash) for a short time, there is a very short time window you can use charge instantly. (ur previous combo ended but charge level has not been removed). It's 100% a bug looks cool but does nothing.

Big monsters kinda scare me. "Understanding the monster", This is true & I feel this is where I suffer from the most. Every monster feels different & having to adapt is important. My fear is when another monster jumps into the fray & starts attacking me, now I'm suddenly dealing with 2 bad guys. Ugh. I need to overcome my fear! Insane bro, absolutely insane. Honestly gs has become kind of boring, being able to TCS shoulder bash through pretty much everything. But between Alatreon forcing me to git gud and actually learn a monster, and seeing the insane reads in this video, I'm remembering why I fell in love with the weapon to begin with. Lots to learn even still, thanks for the tips!

What? You don't enjoy the gamble of plowing through supernovas, divebombs, breath attacks and whatnot with a tackle, coming out with little health only to deliver that toppling TSC? But I'll say this, the gear we got before Alatreon made the game a little too easy. Heck, with so much damage at our disposal and so much armor, you can just unga bunga through most monsters without even figuring out the monsters. That's why Alatreon is hard because you can't brute force him by the power of gear alone.

@@Gebunator Fatalis too. It took me the better part of a month to get back into the swing of things (pun intended) to FINALLY get my first victory against Fatalis, which is also a solo victory, because I always beat monsters solo before taking them on in a group setting. 2000 damage non-wakeup hits? Damn, I want to try GS now! Also I absolutely love the pause in the magi soundtrack that's timed perfectly with the rathalos trip!

Hello do you have any tips on how to perfectly time the instant charge after tackle at 2:55?

Unfortunately, There are some inaccurate LEVELS arangement. LV1 - LV4: It's better to showcase the weakest GS combo to the strongest one. LV5: no longer works after patched LV6: Accurate! Very Good! LV7: Predictive Slash doesn't always work, especially on multiplayer hunt, it depends on monster tripping treshold. What difference between Predictive Slash and Charged Slash(?) LV8: not bad, it works on solo hunt. LV9: It depends on tripping treshold. LV10: It's better to showcase your best TA run. What you missed? 1- Aerial GS combo 2- GS is not about Charged Slash, Strong Charged Slash and TCS. You are lack of GS combo variation. 3- You may check DC Shiori's 10 LEVELS of Weapon Series in Iceborne for good reference, especially 10 LEVELS of LS Extended ver.

I respect your opinion, but I don't agree with your criticism. Aerial GS combo is one of the worst implementations and ways to demonstrate skill with a weapon. (I respect the play style but I don't share it and therefore don't want to show it). LV5: still works. LV7: The difference is in the ability to predict these hits and timed well, in multiplayer I have been able to perform this type of charges, this video is focused to learn to improve solo. LV9: Ability to learn about a monster and learn the damage you need to get the dunk. LV10: This step tries to show many of the opening for tcs that we have in IB, there are many more nowadays since there are new monsters. To show a run as you say you already have the videos of the runs.

@@ArisMH Aerial GS Combo is one of the worst implementation? Nope, people have their own goal to hunt, as a great sword user you have to teach people what GS can do. Also, for Normal Charge demonstration, why you didn't wake Viper Tobi up with TCS? 5: I play on XBOX but It doesn't work for me. And why you don't make a clarification/guide about no.5? people keep questioning this. LV 7, 9, 10: Do you think the previous LEVELS don't need a well-timed execution and prediction? Dunk could be happened anywhere. Even with GS kick (weakest GS attack perhaps). Thx 4 your prompt reply Aris.

I really don't want to reply to this, but dude really? DC Shiori's 10 Levels of weapon aren't that great either. Look at his Lance and Switch Axe video. It's alright in the first parts and looks flashy but on higher levels, there's nothing really technical and in-depth he had shown so far, which I'd expect from a weapon master. (Just look at Yanxi and Kekko TA runs for comparison) Also I want to side on Aris here.. LV5: Still works to this day. The timing window is just really tight, but I managed to do it multiple times. LV7 & 9: Yes it works, even in multiplayer. Play enough times and you'd be surprised how easy it is to predict when a monster is gonna focus you. As a GS player, you need to know the monsters' attack wind up animations and recovery, as well as its behaviour in order to setup these attacks. Example is in LV10 part, Rajang. He'll always jumps back before going enraged, and you can setup an attack there. Another is Teostra's (non-tempered) supernova can easily be dunked on a lv3 charged slash or strong charged slash. Master these and it'll be easy to apply on either solo or multiplayer. You can even bait openings like Fatalis cone fire! 1 - Aerial GS - As good as it is solo, it is not applicable to every situation, and like with your argument, will be very hard to pull off consistently on a multiplayer setting. 2 - Yes GS is not about strong charged attacks or tcs. It's about knowing the monster you're hunting to the smallest detail. Prediction and Timing is where the difficulty is for GreatSword and I think it's perfectly demonstrated here. LV 1-4 is knowing what combos to use. LV 6-9 is how to land those combos and how to exploit openings. The only anomaly here is LV 5 which I think is more of an unintentional feature rather than an actual reliable combo because of how hard it is to pull off.

@@bulate0101 Really? Where's Critical Draw mixed with Punish Draw Style / Technique in Aris video? He just repeats TCS and TCS. GS is not about TCS. You may use other GS attacks which has a lot of implementation and potential. So Sad. The Dunk Level and Level 10 are so mid compared to Misepu made by Shiori and his Japanese Monster Hunter content creators friends (check Kome's channel, Daisuke's, Kajura's etc. for your reference). You should check DC Shiori's latest 10 LEVELS of Lance Part II (Revision) , 10 LEVELS of Long Sword Extended Ver. and 10 STYLISH RANKS of Charge Blade (it's in presented in depth and more complex Technique). Also, so sad you never watch Shiori's Lance runs. KC Gemini and Shiori are the sample of great Lance TA Wiki Speedrunner. 😅
