Yes! Please! A part 2! There are so many products available today & it seems to be constantly changing! It can be very confusing trying to navigate what is important, how to use the product, etc! I have always used sunscreen, but am now over 50 and I am extremely confused & don't want to be influenced by content creators, but want information from experts in the field of skincare!

I couldn’t agree more! Skin care products are pushed by content creators who have no expertise whatsoever in knowing what is a healthy skin care product and what is not.

A very special thanks to Dr.Arampatzis. He answered so many questions as far as skin care & how to treat our skin. I’m very guilty of over cleansing & applying so much moisturizer! Sunscreen is important but finding the right one can be very difficult. Thank you Andreea for bringing this interview for us all. I certainly can’t wait for part two!! The Dr is so kind, down to earth & seems so integrious. And, as he pointed out he was very comfortable to be honest & real because of YOU! 💖💫

You also have to remember that research is expensive, especially on the big scale and people that invest the money into the research want to see “certain” results that might push the direction of studies in one or another direction (I am a scientist myself but in a much smaller scale!). I have become so skeptical that I actually cannot trust anyone…Biologique Recherche works for me, so I decided not to dig or question. Nice video, thank you!

Hi Andrea, one of your best videos ever, congrats!!! I was so happy to hear, after watching this content, that I am not making almost none of these mistakes. I have seriously educated myself with dermatologists throughout my life and, although I have had good and bad experiences of course, I have learnt so much that I can consider myself a very humble expert on my own skin. Four of the basic but most important lessons are, first to always always listen to your skin, second never ever miss a double cleansing at night, third, your face starts from the upper part of your chest and finally ,always always use sunscreen, and your skin will be so much happier. I am 61 years old and I don't look older than 50. Thanks again dear, great content :)

PART TWO please! And perhaps a small portion of that should include discussing red (blue, green, yellow or orange as well) LED light therapy masks. Especially since women are so focused on results and it’s something they can do at home for themselves in as little as 10 minutes a day a couple of times a week. There’s a wide variety of products to choose from that are affordable and obtainable for everyone. Blue LED light for example kills the germs associated with cystic acne and prevents scarring while red light promotes healing and helps to build collagen. Not to mention that they’re a gentle and pain free option to healing irritated or inflamed skin. Thank you for sharing this information and having such a credible amicable expert help us sort through skincare and enlighten us about our own biology. Magnifique! ✨

I think we all know that SPF is crucial in our daily routine. However! Realistically, how many of us will reapply every two hours? When you live in a country where the summer temperatures reach 40*+ and you sweat profusely and the product says apply to clean DRY skin??? Trying to apply it to sweaty or even damp, clammy skin is nigh on impossible and although I keep a small towel in my bag to wipe my face, no matter how ‘light’ the product is, I end up with a patchy usually white face because my skin will always be damp!!! I wish this was addressed when talking to experts and manufacturers take this into account!

Thank you SO MUCH Andrea and a huge thanks to the Dermatologist! Xoxo 😘 This was wonderful! I can't say how many times I've been tempted to try Retinol again, even though I know my skin gets red, puffy, and blotchy from it! My skin does not like this product. It was very nice to hear him say "the skin knows what to do to take care of itself." That reminds me to listen to my body, let it tell me what it needs. Also, so good to hear yes!!! Talc is not always 'bad' if it is purified. It makes our makeup so much nicer. Also good to hear that Clean Beauty does not really have defined standards and to pay more attention to what is actually IN the products. LOVE this!! Yes, a Part 2 would be AMAZING!!! 💞💞💞

I am confused avout the moisturizer thing. This is from Paula's Choice site and I really was trusting them along time helping me with knowledge about skincare and ingredients... Who and what to believe now? Myth: If you apply moisturizer every day your skin becomes lazy and loses its ability to stay hydrated on its own. Truth: Skin doesn’t “get used to” being hydrated and forget how to stay hydrated on its own. It isn’t physiologically possible any more than your body gets used to drinking water or eating healthy foods daily. Your body needs help staying hydrated and healthy and your skin needs help too, just in a different way. Over time, skin loses its ability to stay naturally hydrated as it did when we were young. This occurs for a variety of reasons, but mostly because of sun damage and age. Climate also plays a part: Arid conditions can be a problem, especially if you aren’t giving your skin what it needs like a brilliantly-formulated moisturizer. Skin can also become dry from using bad skin care products such as abrasive scrubs, harsh cleansing brushes, and fragranced products. Often, all it takes to get skin back to normal is using better moisturizing products with skin replenishing and restoring ingredients, so it can recover. The problem of dryness may indeed go away when you stop damaging your skin. Myth: Skin can become addicted to moisturizer. Truth: This one is a bit confusing because if your skin is naturally dry (from genetics) or becomes dry (because of an impaired surface barrier due to sun damage and age), the dryness will be instantly alleviated by routine application of a moisturizer. You can’t repair the damage that caused the dryness, but you can improve the condition by using a barrier-repairing moisturizer (and maintain the improvement, just like your diet does for your body). Skin cannot become physically or psychologically addicted to moisturizer in the way a person can be addicted to cigarettes or illicit drugs. What can happen with routine use of facial or body moisturizer is that we become accustomed to our skin feeling and looking a certain way, and dislike how our skin feels in its un-moisturized condition. So, we keep applying moisturizer to maintain the feeling we like. This isn’t addiction or dependence; we’re not compelled to do this because the urge is too powerful to overcome-we do it because that’s how we like our skin to feel and what it needs to look the way it did when it was young. Myth: You only need to moisturize if you wash your skin daily. Truth: Some of us over-cleanse or over-scrub our skin, which steadily depletes the naturally-occurring substances that keep skin intact and hydrated (like ceramides, fatty acids, or hyaluronic acid). But by using a gentle, fragrance-free face wash, a mild, soap-free body cleanser and avoiding long baths or showers (which break down skin’s moisture-protecting barrier) you can cleanse daily without worry of dehydrating skin. From there, the kind of moisturizer you need depends on your skin type and concerns. Myth: You only need moisturizer if you have visibly dry, flaky skin. Truth: Not so, and it would be a terrible mistake to believe this one! Regardless of your skin type, as long as you choose a moisturizer with beneficial ingredients and a skin type-appropriate texture (cream for dry skin, gel or liquid for oily skin, and lotion for normal to combination skin), you can absolutely gain amazing benefits from using one. Board-certified dermatologist Dr. Debra Jaliman recommends “using a daily moisturizer compatible with your skin type” for healthy skin. However, you can also get those must-have ingredients from other types of skin care products (such as face serums, treatments, boosters, and toners); a product doesn’t have to be labeled “moisturizer” or have a creamy texture for your skin to get what it needs to be healthy. As a special tip to those struggling with flaky skin and breakouts trying to find the best moisturizer for acne: choose one that’s oil-free and has a sheer, lightweight texture that won’t clog pores.

I was actually disappointed in the lack of scientific info. He didn't provide any study results, and his qualifications are only that "a doctor" (unknown what kind, and what they specialize in) reviewed (how?) the AI results from their pictures. When you go against the consensus of scientists, studies, and practitioners by saying most people shouldn't use a moisturizer, you gotta provide study results!

Really enjoyed this video. The opinion of an expert is always welcomed, he explained everything so clearly and easy to understand for 'non-connaisseur'. In my opinion Andreea, you should think starting a podcast on this type of topics :) Looking forward for the 2nd part!

Thank you for the advice of backing off on skincare products. The technology and development of "cosmetically elegant" sunscreens is pretty recent. I easily remember heavily scented, greasy sunscreens with spf 4-8. No wonder we are a generation with sun damage.

I love that more derms are coming out to talk about “clean beauty” and how it’s not the best option for our skin 👏

Confirms a lot of things I’ve felt about my skin. When I use actives my skin becomes more inflamed and sensitive but the moment I remove them my skin looks healthier and feels more balanced - glad there was some confirmation here that in some cases this is valid.

Brilliant video: important info shared, common misperceptions debunked! I was a bit bewildered when discussing moisturizers. Appreciated the distinction betw dry & dehydrated skin. Confused about what product to use basis on newly gained info. Mind blown to hear moisturizers can actually add to the problems of dry or dehydrated skin. Please advise. And, Andrea, thank for a wonderfully beneficial video!
