This show actually got me running. Been doing it for a few years now, even completet a half marathon. The show is simply that got.

Haikyuu might not have gotten me to play volleyball (yet) but Haiji did get me to start running 😂

Hakone Ekiden is an annual competition held in New Year where college teams compete in a round trip course of 217 km in two days! They have five runners relay from Tokyo to Hakone on the first day and back to Tokyo with another relay of five on the second day. A lot of famous top long-distance runners came from here. It's a very famous competition and a tradition to watch it on tv during the new year break!

I literally can't stop laughing at Sarah freaking out over Kakeru being a thief.

I LOVE this anime. It's one of the rare anime where the protagonist is not 12 year old. They are so real with real problems and so emotional. I'm so happy 😭😭❤️❤️❤️❤️

I think it depends on the University but most Japanese University sports teams have dorms where only the athletes live in. You also see this in powerhouse Japanese HS teams as well. You’ll get a glimpse of Shiratorizawa’s dorms in S4 of Haikyuu as well.

"Anime Olympian" is such a flex haha honestly go with it, not like anyone else can contest that title and you earned it :) Really glad you are watching other anime that focus on sports like this! Your channel is amazing and I love your commentary. A lot of the observations and things you notice are so relatable as... I'd like to say "as a fellow athlete" but it seems a little presumptuous on my part given how successful you are haha. I was just a university athlete (epee fencing) and competed professionally for just a little bit as a tennis player. Never got anywhere close to your skill level on either of my sports but I always find myself smiling when you make your comments about practice, improving, and so on. But hey I am Canadian, *that* I can say I relate to at least that with certainty haha. But yeah I really love both your insights into sports, mindset, and the general thought process that goes into that kind of thing...as well as just the fact you're really good at analyzing media and getting into the plot of the show/characters. Usually feels like most channels are either very good on the media level or the sports level, you're like the only one who's amazing at both. Run With the Wind is an amazing show and I think right up your alley considering what you liked about Haikyuu. It's one of those shows that really touch on what it means to be in love with a sport and I love it for that reason. Not sure if you're looking for other sports anime to watch at some point, but if you ever ask for it I (and I'm sure the rest of your community) have recommendations haha.

I am so glad you chose to react to Run with the Wind. Not only is RWTW made by the same anime production company, you might probably recognise some VA from Haikyu as well.

After finally getting the chance to watch the reaction, there’s actually an easy way to figure out who Jota and Joji is. Jota usually wears blue and Joji usually wears red, yellow, or pink and he always wears a necklace.

It leans more towards marathon running than track or cross country. They’ll probably get more into it in the later episodes but when Haiji says Hakone, he’s talking about the Hakone Ekiden. Hakone Ekiden is one of the Big Three University races in Japan. It’s held on January 2-3 every year. Every year 20 schools (10 runners per team) will run from Tokyo to Hakone and then Hakone back to Tokyo.

Run with the wind is literally my most favorite and my most rewatched anime, and the fact that my favorite Haikyuu reactor is reacting to it!!!!!!!! I could die happy now

After this, my vote goes to Ping Pong the Animation for sure, it’s short and very good. About the Hinata and Kageyama question, our protagonist Kakeru is a first year student while Haiji is a fourth year, so they wouldn’t have met in school before this. (Middle school and high school are three years each)

I used to do XC and Track and this anime is so beautiful. I heard from older viewers that they felt more relatable to the characters here, especially because they were college students. and not the usually high school age kids you get in Shounen anime

This will be my third time watching Run with the Wind within the span of 6 months. When I first started watching it I just needed a short, unserious anime for procrastination purposes. I started the show on a whim and fell in love so it deserved a re-watch with full attention bc the philosophy of this anime is absolutely amazing and relatable. I love the fact that it takes place in a university setting bc you dont see that very often. It has easily become one of my favorite anime. Cant wait to watch it with you!

Haven't watched the video yet, but want to say that this is #3 of my favourite sports animes so good choice. Haikyu is of course my #1 fav, and #2 is Ace of the diamond, a baseball anime. Watching it stresses me out so much haha but I truly love it. It has some really wonderful characters, and the main reminds me somewhat of Hinata.

Oh my god, I'm so lucky I found this! I've been loving your Haikyuu reactions, and RWTW is my alltime favorite anime (I'm a marathoner and have been long distance running since middleschool!). It's so good. Unfortunately, I've been nursing a metatarsal stress fracture for the last several months (really relate to Haiji on injuries >_< ) but I'm hoping to rejoin my running team activities soon! You'll love this one if you loved Haikyuu!

I just started watching this anime because I want to watch your reaction! This was out of my comfort zone as well but I'm glad that I watched it, I've only watched ep 1 but I pretty liked the introduction, the animation is smooth as well. This was adapted from novel, which I'm quite unfamiliar with that too, I usually watch anime from manga adaptation, so, this is interesting and refreshing of how they came up with the character designs, how to put into anime storyline and everything 😊 Thank you for introducing me with new anime!
